just chiming in on the #60 O-ring, took me freakin 20 minutes to get that tiny thing on the button, but depressing it is super easy (short throw) and no misfires or issues. i really didn't have problems with the original switch, but sometimes the button push took a bit more strength...which i'm guessing is a problem a lot are having...not PUSHING hard enough.

i'll be trying the Noalox for extra protection, but i was sick of roaming around the hardware store :)

Interesting, When I bought mine from Lowe's I put it on right in the parking lot in about 1 min with just my fingers :p Just did it like you would a tire held it with 1 finger down over and edge and used my thumb to work it around the rest of the edge coming back to where I started.

see that would make sense, and i tried that for 20 minutes.

this won't make any sense, but like the tendons/ligaments whatever in my thumb and index are connected. i can't bend my thumb without my index finger forcibly bending, so it makes some things very difficult, haha. i got some of those little "reverse" tweezers/pliers and squeezed it open and snapped it around the button.

i should try the pencil trick and see if that makes it easier!

So will permatex dielectric grease work? I have some of that on hand. If not I'm gonna pick some up @ the depot when I grab some o rings today

Not exactly sure what permatex is....And i haven't heard of any one use it on there PV's....So i would defiantly hold off on that thought.....Just My 2Cents worth.....

Got it to work finally. I am not sure if somebody mention this previously. But I also had to install the original rubber band to the button.

So first it's the #60 o-ring. Second is the rubber band (original), then it's the contact wheel. Now it's fires up 100%. Don't like the feel of the switch now, but it's 1000000% better than before. So no complains.

THANKS ALL. Great info here.

Just be careful with that short of a throw on the switch. More chances of having your V2 misfire.

I must say, I'm going on the 2nd week of owning my Prodgy V2, it came with the stainless steal posts and the "O-Ring". Worked good for a couple days then started getting the dreaded misfires.

I have to say that the Noalox has worked wonders on this thing! Someone should make a sticky on using Noalox or Oxgaurd on the switch resistor ring. Might even do good for PS to include a small sample pack of some of this stuff with thier switch upgrade and also with their units. Yeah it's a little maintenance, but it makes the switch fire 100% with light presure. And a little of it goes a long ways.

Man these switch problems must be a pain to have to deal with so often as a business owner. I love my V2, but god dangit do I hate that switch sometimes. Yet, not that I got mine all ghetto rigged cause I lost a piece of that switch it seems to work more often then it ever did. Thank god for duct tape.

I agree. I too am new to the Prodigy V2 and, unfortunately, right from the start had problems with misfires. I fried my included 910 atty on my second attempt and a 510 (using adaptor) shorly after. I must have looked quite silly holding my prodigy up to my ear, mashing the button every which way, and finally dashing for my mouth each time I heard a slight sizzle. It was the only way I could avoid sucking air and juice 9 out of 10 times. Every time I would swear to return it, I would get that 10th hit that was just what I was looking for.

So, I took all the posters advice and bought some Noalox. I followed the directions and after a few daubs, my Prodigy has been hitting 100% with a reasonable button push (no more thumb pain) and I am constantly surrounded by a cloud of vapor. And now with the buttons consistency, I feel more confortable that my attys wont pop due to user carlessness.

Long story short....went from 9 our of 10 misfires to 100% 5V heaven.
As such, I do think a little packet of noalox would be a great addition to a starter kit since it is recommended for regular maintenance anyway. It would have saved me a lot of frustration but even so, Im glad I chose the Prodigy V2. Its exactly what I had hoped it would be.
