hey ultimist. another guy had the same issue on another post. i told him to just go grab a tube of ox-gard from home depot. all you have to do i take your switch apart and put a tiny dab of ox-gard on the two metal contact where the metal ring on the button hits and it'll fire everytime. ox-gard is an electrical conducting liquid material that provides improved conductivity and a cooler connection and that tiny little bit of material will bridge the gap between those metal pieces in the switch that are the cause of your misfires. it's completely safe and will not short anything out. i've been using it for a few weeks now. it's awesome. and the ox-gard is only $2.50 for more than you'll ever use. just make sure that about every two weeks you clean it up and re-do what i just told you. it turns the v2 into the most reliable and super sweet machine on the planet. also, i put a little dab on the adapter contact post for better performance as well. but yeah, it works and takes under a minute to do. c ya.

I picked up the #60 o-rings tonight and man what a diff that made since for stabilizing the button since I lowered the shelf of derlin around the contact pins inside the switch so I didn't have to turn mine over to get good contact. I did it that way because I like the larger contact patch instead of such a small area that the rounded side of the pins give like most of ya'll are doing.

sure thing chief. and glad to see that worked for you r.f. there's multiple solutions to this button issue. i've just found that the ox-gard is easiest and most effective. good luck to all.

I also currently use Noalox on the contact points and threads but will be switching to the silver stuff once that gets here. After I did the lowering of the little shelf in the switch plus stretching the batt spring on the end cap and making sure the switch body was able to move freely in the tube I had no issues at all. the switch just rocked some since there was no shelf to support it anymore. But now since I have the oring in there and it's stiffer it feels much better.

Sounds like 2 winners here... Can pick up the O rings and the conductive gel all at home depot for under 5 bucks! Thanks Fellas...

While were here, How long does a set of batteries last y'all from moderate to heavy vaping? Oh, and I did get the 901 adapter btw :D

with the 510 I get roughly 3 to 4 hours vaping time out of it, with the BE112's I get 5 to 6 hours and I vape about 6ml per day

edit (I guess I should also mention the current batch of 510 atty's I got from PS are running 2 to 2.1 ohms each so they are power hungry, but they sure do produce tons and tons of nice warm vapor)

good choice my friend. the 901 will not run as hot as the 510 and i am a moderate vaper and my batteries last me all day, sometimes longer. i change them out every night though. im told that heavy vaping will get you around 8 solid hours of battery life. not too shabby for a 5v device. all around, the v2 is the best. im sure you'll be able to get a full days worth of vaping with your v2 if you dont overdose on nicotine first.

This totally depends on how much you vape and which atty you are using. With cartos I can get about 8 hours of use. With a 510 I am lucky to get 6 hours. I vape about 4ml a day.

Cash, thanks for the offer. I'll go to HD and buy the O rings and silver crap. If this don't work I'll get it send back to you. I just have the worst luck at things not going wrong when I am trying to show someone what is wrong with it:rolleyes: I really thought for a long time it was operator error, but it's just to frequent now.

Because 95% of Prodigy V2 buyers wouldn't know what to do with them ;) Remember, not everyone is as technically skilled as you and me Harpo ...

Cleaning Adapters = Soaking in Vinegar :)

Although, I have never personally let mine get that far :) I get some adapters back that are completely black - No brass to be seen. Full of nastyness ... Never cleaned a day in their life :) Kind of like washing a car - Some people never do it, while others do it every other day ;) I keep my PV equipment in tip top shape .... Wipe down threads atleast 2 times every day, blow out excess liquid from my atomizer so it doesn't end up in the canal of the adapter, etc...

Steve
So true. I'll start soaking my adapters in vinegar once or twice a week. Thanks for the tip.

grateful me, just dont even worry about the o-rings. just go get the ox-gard and it'll solve all your problems. it's okay, dont get frustrated. it's a simple and easy fix that will provide you with 100% reassurance that you made the right decision with buying the v2. i wish my v2 would've come to me nice and perfect too. but it is what it is and you gotta do what you gotta do. lol, hope that made sense. it's late. haha, it'll work, i promise.

The Orings provide an even press on the switch, where the latex would give an uneven press...the noalox works great...dont forget to apply to all ur threads too...

To the OP..when taking ur switch apart, scrape the contacts in the delrin w a twezzer...scratch em good. when they were machined the delrin leaves a thin coating. It **will work off with a zillion presses but much easier to just give em a few scrapes ;) All should work well after...

Also, I just wet a qtip w water and run thru my adapter to clean..works well....Im like cash tho-I keep it clean, no need for the vin...yet ;)

I went and bought this tonight. Home depot by me does not carry it, but Ace did. It worked as described. Suddenly I have the pv of my dreams. Thanks you so much. Steve might consider doing this before sending them out. I was pretty mad there for a while, thinking I bought a lemon. I hadn't even used my V2 for over a week. Now it's V2 bliss again.
