So, so happy with my PV (My story thus far)

Hi, My Name is Vivid, and I'm a nicotine addict. ;)

I've been smoking for the last 15 years or so, and tried every imaginable way of quitting--patches, gums, lozenges, and the evil, awful, worst-drug-ever: Chantix. I wanted to quit smoking. I hated everything about it, but I couldn't stop. Definitely a love-hate relationship of the worst kind.

I placed my order with strictlye-juice.com late Wednesday night, and obsessively stalked the mailwoman until my box arrived the following Tuesday. (Yay for good TAT!)

I immediately popped in one of the pre-filled carts that came with my Starter Kit and gave it a few puffs--OUCH! It burned! It actually reminded me quite a bit of the way Nicorette or other Nictone gums feel in your mouth and throat, but after a few puffs the burning subsided and I was thrilled.

I was too impatient to wait for an 8 hour long battery charge, so I gave in after a couple of hours and put the other battery on to charge. I decided to try one of the flavors I'd gotten with the order--the Kona Coffee--with a piece of blue foam. That was a little better, flavor wise, because the Marboro liquid that comes in the carts is just...not too good.

I'm still learning and adjusting, and there are still times when I find myself craving an analog (especially after meals and when I take the first sip of any alcohol), but that quickly subsides. I still haven't figured out exactly the amount of liquid to use, but I'm getting better. I've only flooded my atty once, which is pretty good (or at least I think so), what with being a noob and all.

I am getting bored with the flavors I got, though (Kona Coffee, Kona Coffee Chocolate, English Toffee, and Coconut (BLECH. I hate the coconut. Hate.). I placed an order with Ms. T's the same night, though, so hopefully they'll get here soon. Yesterday I ordered some Atomic Fireball from TastyVapor, and I'm really excited about that one. I think that the flavor (or lack thereof, with the liquids I have now) is the only thing that's keeping me from being head-over-heels in love with vaping. I mean, I DO love it, and have no intention of going back to analogs, but I want different flavors.

I really want a thicker, "richer," vape. I'm pretty sure that I will gravitate more towards the sweeter flavors, like caramel, vanilla, cheesecake (?), etc. I'd love to try something like Bananas Foster, but Ms. T's didn't have the Bananas Foster Coffee flavor in stock when I ordered. I'm definitely looking forward to the Atomic Fireball, because I hope it'll give me the TH and intense flavor I'm looking for.

When I go into a gas station to get a soda (or whatever) and when the cashier asks, "Is that all?", I keep having to stop myself from saying, "And a box of Marlboro Lights in a box, please." After all these years, it had become second nature. To not ask for cigarettes feels a little strange, but in the most wondeful way imaginable. It's so LIBERATING!

I'm so thrilled that I found this forum, and eternally grateful for the e-cig. Though, I definitely can see this becoming an addiction all its own...I need more batteries, more attys, more carts, more filler. I want a PCC and a PT. I want tons of flavors of juice so that I never get bored. I eventually want to purchase a Chuck, I think, because I've heard great things about the battery life and vapor production from them. But right now, I'm just enjoying learning about and using my Joye 510. I'm a girl who loves her bath, body, and hair products, and I love perfume oils and for my house to smell good, so not reeking of cigarette smoke and yet still "smoking" and getting the nicotine I "need" is unbelievably fantastic.

Thank you, ECF!

Congrats! So glad to hear that you finally got your PV and off to a good start! Yes, it sure can become an addiction real fast! Just a quick note because you didn't make a reference to it, but when you start with a new atty, blow the primer fluid out first before using it. Take a papertowel and hold it in one hand, blow through the threaded end of the atty and you will see liquid coming out onto the towel. Give it a few good blows. That is probably the really nasty taste you got at the start. Then, the first few puffs you take, just blow them out. Do not inhale. This way the rest of the primer fluid can get burned off. Again, Congratulations!

Side Note: You are going to love, love, love Atomic Fireball from TV. TV also has Banana Foster and I heard that is to die for as well. I am waiting for my Banana Foster and my 2nd order of AFB.

Hello, Vivid ... Welcome to the club!

I read on here that the VG base used in eLiquids is pharmaceutical grade Glycerin, USP ; you can buy a (6oz.)/(180ml.) bottle of that, off the shelf, at WalMart for $3.12 - when you refill your cartridge, put in a couple drops of that before you top it off with eJuice. It will taste slightly sweeter and you will get a lot more vapor!

Maybe you've used the "Lampe Berger" fragrance lamps in your home. I make my own "juice" using Essential Oils and 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (from WalMart and about 5 feet away from the Glycerin, USP). This alcohol is excellent for cleaning and maintaining your atomizer ("atty").

Good Luck!

Atomic fireball is amazing! I don't think there is anything like it out there. It is really intense flavor. Hope you enjoy it!

Hey Vivid - I'm right there with you... just got my first PV this week and I think I'm in love. It's great isn't it?

I still haven't made the transition fully (still smoking a few analogs here and there... yeah I know)... but I have smoked less in this entire week than I normally would have smoked in the first couple of hours of a regular day. And that is with ZERO effort on my part to cut back... just using the PV when I would normally smoke (up until monday I smoked a pack and a half a day for 17 years).

And the more and more posts I read like yours the more motivated I get... this is a great site filled with great people. Welcome aboard!

Hi, My Name is Vivid, and I'm a nicotine addict. ;)

Then this is a good place to be :) Congrats and welcome aboard!

I'm a few weeks in now and am less and less inclined to smoke analogs each day. Until yesterday (or the day before), I'd been keeping some real smokes around "just in case", and every now and again lighting one up. Wow do they taste nasty compared to my favorite juices. It's really something how effortless it is to give them up once you get comfortable enough with how to work an ecig. I finally finished off the last of my analogs yesterday... I am so done with that.

You mentioned how strange it is to not be buying cigarettes at your usual haunts for doing so. Made me realize that I can't remember when I last visited the convenience store where I would buy two packs of Malboro lights every other day. They must think I died or something :) I'll have to go in there tomorrow producing clouds of vapor with my m402 loaded up with some tasty vg juice. It'd be great if they sold spare atty's and good juices.

PS: Happy Mardi Gras and how 'bout dem Saints!
