I forgot about that post thank you! I have work with metal from time to time and the best thing is to start small and work bigger it keeps the bits from binding.
I will not cut those screws I think I might need them.
to prevent them from separating I left the screws in
I am super cautious when separating and I learned my lesson about filling the tank with a syringe through the fill hole I shredded a wick trying to make this happen.
I need to order some NR wire, I keep getting hot spots when I build my coils. I will try doubling over my kanthal like the guys in the vivi nova thread are doing. It has been helping with the "hot legs" effect.

Not to jump into your thread and as you can see I'm not Woody, but you mightlook at how Scubabatdan modded the tank

3 suggestions to the above from my modding 2 tanks so far (you can take them or leave them):
1) no need to cut the ground screw in half
2) these tank's post will separate from the top plate when you're drilling the hole if the drill bit binds - I used a pair of Vice Grips to hold the top plate edges while drilling holes
3) these tank's post will separate from the bottom plate when you're pulling the tank off (wires break too) - be careful. You have to take the tank off to make the mods, plus you take it off to add liquid. Rather than continuing to worry about it just to fill a tank, I took one of the now extra holes in the top plate and drilled it out a little bit so it will accept a filling needle. If it does come apart, go ahead and put some 2 part epoxy (Dan used Gorilla Glue, I used JB Weld with 50% success) in it.
