Seriously looking at the xhaler. Like the mechanical switch and ability to switch between attys, batteries, and even volts using the bottom switch.

1. What is the experience of anyone who has used it for more than a couple of weeks? Is there anything you have found out about the xhaler with continued or extended use? It's one thing to post a thread or video when you first get it out of the box, but what's the relationship like in the long run?

Have had mine a couple of weeks; works better now than at the beginning which I attribute to breaking in.

2. How often are you having to pull maintenance on it, and how difficult is it to do in real life? And I've already read about the coating the switch with the aluminum wire stuff from ace.

Haven't done it yet (in part because I use more than one device and in part I haven't made it to the hardware store yet)

3. Does anyone have experience using 6v on this with the hv 510 attys? One of the things that appeals to me about this is the ability to throttle back to 5v with a fresh charge and loosen the cap later on to get maximum use out of the batteries without popping an atty.

I have the HV atty; honestly, I can't tell the difference between 5v and 6v.

4. Does anyone have another hv (or other) mod besides the xhaler, and how would you compare the two? I've heard good things about the xhaler, but every design has strengths and flaws. Has anyone moved from the inhaler to primarily using another device, and why?

I have a 5v passthrough (VP) and a Prodigy V2 for comparison purposes. I like all of them equally well, I do believe. That probably doesn't help you much though...sorry. It'll depend on what's important to you. I prefer the location of the V2 button over the Xhaler button, but that's because I have arthritis in my hands. I think the V2 is a nice looking piece (it's sleek) but that really isn't a serious consideration for me. I prefer the VP passthrough over both of the mods because of its consistency. But they all work well.

I blew 4 in the beginning. What appeared to be the problem is the LiFePO4-whatever batteries, I can only think that they spike when they're new. Try using them before the light on the charger goes green-the first few times.

Is there anyone out there who used brand new Lithium batteries the first times and didn't blow attys?

I have not blown a atty with new batteries. I have only burnt out one atty with my Xhaler and that was because I had it in my front jeans pocket, the button fired and it was only when things started getting pretty hot that I noticed. The atty did not survive.

One thing I have done each time I load fresh batteries whether new or not into my Xhaler is drip three drops on the atty before depressing the switch. I have not been at this long and am by no means an expert but making sure the atty is wet seems to always work for me. I went over 30 days on the atty that blew in my pocket. I am now on my second atty.

I got mine today.
I have been 510 all the way until I got this after several batteries died that were about 6 months old.

I have some old innovapor branded 510 attys that would barely sizzle and heat at all with standard battery that are working with the 6v!

I did kill 1 innovapor, but I think it was close anyway and just came from the everclear bath a few days ago.. 3 drops of HV juice... it was vapin out the sides when installed.. got 2 hits and it quit..

I am trying to use old 510s that are suspect in the standard batteries until my order of HV attys come in..

This does bring up a question tho.

I have not found a thread on it, but would love to see a thread with a poll... maybe a couple of polls.

I would like to hear from those who have used the XHaler for enough time to know...

What battery configuration are you running.. 3.7v.. 5/6v... 7.4v...

Then... more important to me....

What atty are you using.

One of my old 510 attys is working well in this but it is (as I kind of expected) much harsher than when in the 3.7 and .. I am not getting the plumes of vapor.

Now I probably will with new attys... just hesitant with firing up a new 2.5 ohm one and want to start out on the 4.5 ohm.

sorry for rambling... but bottom line question... What voltage and what atty are ya'll diggin?

I've been using the regular 510 attys at 5/6 volts. I've yet to pop an atty. I've got a habit of flooding my atty when using my 510 at 3.7 (Joye 510), so that habit has resulted in me having great success with my XHALER.

Now, I've gotten better at not flooding when using 3.7 volts. I typically step down to that voltage when winding the day down.

I've used mine for over a month now. First off it's too hot, and not much flavor. Then it oxydizes just right and I have great vapor, TH, and flavor, probably about 5-7 days. Then I have to clean the contacts up. I've been using a Mr. Clean magic sponge, wet, and it's working. There are other things you can use. Then because it's nice and de-oxydized, it's too hot again until it oxydizes a bit again. Sometimes I put an 801 on just to cool off the vapor a bit. I generally use a 901. And if I feel the batts moving around a bit, like rattling, I open the top, reach all the way down with a paper clip or something and stretch the spring out a bit. I definitely have a system down. After you clean it up, make sure the atty is nice and wet again, so you don't blow the atty.
