Sorry, yes it is a round wire and I did the magnet test on it that's how I knew it was ferrous.It's a kanger coil with the red insulator which they identify as stainless steel. I bought 28, 26 and ultimately 24 stainless. The factory Coil was definitely not 24 but I was able to achieve the same results with the 24 but it was incredibly hard to work with. Steam engine site pointed me towards 26 gauge titanium . I have a roll of that now as well and ended up actually getting less than .57 for the same number of wraps. I found the flavor from the titanium extremely muted but I didn't clean it before I wrapped it. I scrubed a length of the titanium till it was shiny and I built another, waiting for the contton to dry before I try it out. Titanium is not magnetic, kanger must use some funky alloy that is part stainless is all I can think of. Thanks for your reply
