My insomnia is your gain (maybe
)...
I speed steeped the Tropico in an ultrasonic cleaner, and it is the same as the first time I dripped the first batch. The only change I made is that I dropped the mix to 15% instead of the initial 20%. It is still sweet, and it is still Tropical Lifesavers with pineapple in front. However, since MVJ will not be sweetening DIY extracts in the future, we will all have to add sweeteners to our tastes. I do think this mix is tasty, but it is not an ADV for me. I tend to lean to sour flavors and minty/menthol mixes for that. This is oddly great, however, with iced tea. I'm tempted to add a little Koolada to the mix to see if it would knock some of the heavy sweet off the back of the tongue. Any thoughts about that? I like this mix of Tropico so far, so I'm cautious to drop the flavor down to 10%.
FWIW, I've filled a Smoktech Vivi Rebuildable tank with Tropico, and the flavor is as good as dripping so far. I don't have a great track record sticking with any of the Vivi products, so I'm interested to see how long I like the performance.
I have also speed steeped version 2 of the Midnight Frost. It is also the same as the other batch, as far as I can tell. I still get a big hit of menthol with a bit of sour-ish berry. I have both batches loaded into identical carto-tanks with the same resistance carto. I noticed that the first batch of Midnight Frost is missing a bit of the menthol hit that it had a few days ago, which is really weird. I don't think I have ever had that happen in the space of a couple of days before. Of course, I vaped through at least 5ml in just two days so maybe I vaped all the menthol away...
I have also dripped the Caramel Apple out of curiosity, because I have been letting it steep for about 2 weeks now. It has definitely developed more flavor...so much so that I think I should knock it down to at least 15% and maybe 10%. I'm still getting a bit of tannin-like bitterness that I think might be caused by too much extract in the mix. I'll post again if I manage a better mix.
