Yes, YES!!!

So I am relatively new to the whole vaping scene, out the gate with a Volt starter kit and I'm really loving it. Got a few batteries (thanks to Volt's awesome customer service) and a pass-through from them and I'm most definitely a fan. Also just started using the fluxomizers, more for allowing me to see how much e-liquid I have left...and man, though I love them...I'm just BLOWING (well, sucking) through this e-liquid.

I think I'm ready to take that next step and go for some tanks. Obviously would like a 3ml for my batteries (how safe is this in a pocket?...don't feel like rocking liq all over myself) and would like a 6ml for my passthrough (which is mostly used in my car due to not having many free sockets near my work station at home)

Would the V4L tanks be the way to go for me? Or is there any other options I'm just not stumbling across?

P.S.
Also been contemplating moving to an ego with some 808 threading (Echo or iGo from what I've read so far /n00b tone)...hmmm, is the switch worth it?

I use these and love 'em:

ELITE 808 CLEAR AND EASY TANKS

I have never found any tank to be as satisfying as a good cartomizer, either a Go-cart or The Elite, but these 808 tanks are pretty good.

Hmmmm, interesting, they look about the same size as fluxomizers...how many ml does it hold?

Is there any plastic taste to them at all??

Nope.

The flavor of the e-liquid comes through better than a carto. The trade-off seems to be a small lessening of TH.

I have 2 Elites in my pocket along with a Go-go. One with tank and one with The Elite carto. I vape 3 different tobacco flavors throughout the day ... because I can.

If you are looking at tanks then you obviously don't care how it looks on slim batts. (lollipop! lol) V4l are good for cheap tanks but you are going to have to throw out the DCC that comes standard (though they will probably work on the passthrough- I'd check with SI first though) and replace it with the 3.0 808 carto. Of course, now that volt has stainless steel cartos, you can always get them and punch your own carto. You'll need the 3.5 ml tank and have to cut it down a little for standard cartos. They also make more expensive 3.0ml tanks you can use which are made for boge cartos, which obviously are suitable for kr8 cartos as well.

These are brand new and the first I've seen of them in an 808 thread. I'll know more by the end of the week. Just ordered today.iTurbo ClearomizerThey are obviously made for a fat batt 808. Again, your PV will look like a lollipop!

Do these ever leak in your pocket?

What is the real advantage to the tanks opposed to carts? Is it the taste for TH tradeoff, plus being able to see where you're at with liquid? Or is there more to it than that?

If you're not careful when you put the cap back on it can push down the internal cone and a drop of e-liquid can come out the bottom. A quick wipe with a q-tip and you're ready to go.

The main advantage to the Elite Clear and Easy tanks is Ease of Use.

I had a couple of days of mind numbing computer hell recently and the ability to just refill and vape in well under 30 seconds helped me through the mind numbing computer hell. The TH tradeoff for taste is a minimal deal. The Taste comes through Loud & Clear. You can have the same liquid in a tank and carto and have two different vaping experiences. It's hard to explain but if I had to ... I'd say the flavor from a tank is more "pure."

If I type any more about it I'll start sounding like a wine-nerd.

One more question... how long do these last compared to carts?
As in how long before you have to stop refilling one and chuck it and start with a new one compared?

I have cleaned my Elite Clear and Easy tanks in an ultrasonic cleaner. That seems to get most of the gunk off the coil. I haven't thrown one out yet. Eventually the plastic will weaken and leak though that hasn't happened yet.

Disclaimer:

I don't use these tanks exclusively all day every day. I've got at least 3 e-cigs on my desk or in my pocket At All Times. So if I hit the tank as often as I do the Go-go or The Elite then it gets used for 1/3 of the day. When I was in my Computer Hell mode the tanks were all I used and used and used. Probably was vaping 5 - 6 mls a day. I definitely had to clean 'em up after that routine.

Your mileage will vary depending on the e-liquid you use. A higher VG content and some of the sweeter juices gunk up Go-carts faster than my all tobacco - all the time stuff. But like Christmas tree lights, eventually it will someday just stop working. Or the plastic will degrade and leaks will spring. Or the coil won't clean up after an ultrasonic bath and rinse. So eventually I'll have to toss a $3 item into the garbage.

I remember my first "tank" experience.

I had to leave the house no later than 2:30 to pick up my son from school. I could not be late because we immediately had to leave school to get to his practice on time. I walked out the door at 2:28. I quickly checked the mail and there was a delivery from CigEasy. I knew it was The Tanks!

I grabbed the mail, unlocked the door and rushed in, tore open the package, unwrapped the tank, popped off the top, grabbed a bottle of juice, filled the tank, screwed the tank onto a battery and was out the door by 2:30.

On my way to school I thought to myself, "Well that was CigEasy."

I am now waiting for the new Elite Clear and Easy tanks. Not because I need them. It's just that the new ones have a black band at the bottom and will look even cooler on my Elite batteries.

But to actually get around and answer your question ...

I got 5 tanks in November and 5 more in December. All 10 are alive and kicking.

Thanks a lot for the detailed response that's exactly the info I was hoping for.

I know carts, tanks, whatever will eventually go bad, but from stuff I've read in other threads a number people say they only get 2 to 5 days out of carts before they have to chuck them.

Obviously though I know it depends on your personal usage but I'm like damn, 2 to 5 days, I was at least figuring like 10 days haha.

I'm really stuck right now if I'm going to order the Elite 808 or the Volt with the 78mm batteries though.

I know whichever I get I can always get the other down the line, but I'm a little cash strapped to start so can only get one and a few bottles of juice and extra carts or tanks for now.

Both seem to get really good reviews. I like the auto battery on the Volt and that with a white battery it's a little more inconspicuous in public, but love the idea of the battery life on the Elite and what seems to be reviewed as better vapor.

Not sure haha.

But thanks again and last question... do you order the juices from Cigeasy? Or at least have you?

Eventually, as in the first time I have to reorder juice when I've done more research and talked to more people on here I'll try some of these better places that specialize in the juice, but for the first time I order I'm probably ordering what I hope to be about a month's supply of juice with the actual electronic cig.

I've tried other vendors but pretty much stick with CigEasy. The few problems I had at the beginning (operator error) were solved by Frank or SSV2 going above and beyond. I'm a tobacco juice guy and I like their 555, RY4, Easy-boro, Camel, and flu-cured but ... CigEasy's new Elite Premium Tobacco flavors made me very happy indeed. They tasted sooooo much like the bad ol' days I almost felt guilty.

If you do order The Elite, and if you're partial to tobacco e-liquids, you can give one of the Premium Tobacco flavors a try because a bottle of juice comes with the kit. Delight, Impulse, or Storm. If I had to pick one ... I couldn't.

They have the Elite Premium liquid 4 pack on sale for $20 for the next couple days... So, can you just give be a brief description of each of the 3 non-menthol flavors?

A brief description? Impossible. I'd lapse into wine-nerdery again. All I can say is each one is the most tobacco-y tobacco flavor I've ever tried. It's like walking into a fine tobacco store and taking in a big whiff of the surrounding aromas and trying to describe that.. Describe them?

Okay. I'll try.

Each one is really really good. Get the sample pack. You'll be happy.

Any coupon codes for them? Even free shipping?

Not that I know of. Just good prices and customer service.

Here's the deal. The Elite is the best KR808 format e-cig I've ever tried. The Elite cartomizer holds 2 ml of e-liquid and surpasses my Go-go in TH. The Flavor is phenomenal and Vapor is outstanding.

If you haven't seen PBsardo's Elite review:

Watch it. He also reviews the Elite Clear and Easy Tanks:

Yeah I watched both those reviews a couple days ago. He does a great job and yeah he seemed very impressed with the Elite and actually the Volt as well.

I was just on a bit of a budget right now but I didn't want to wait. The Elite does seem nice but it's a touch pricey and I was surprised they didn't give free shipping if you ordered at least a certain dollar amount.

I can get a Volt right now with 5 extra carts, 5 filled carts, 2 30ml bottles of juice with free shipping all for like $72, although I haven't gone through a checkout to see if they do tax.

For pretty much the same thing from Elite I'm at about $96.

It's not that $24 is going to break me, I just had the idea in my head a few days ago when I decided now was the time that I would stay under $75 including what I hope lasts me a month in liquid.

I will say with the fact the tanks should last longer then the carts by far, the battery lasts longer meaning not only more convenience but not having to buy new batteries as quickly due to charging them a ton and what seems like a nicer product should make up for it, but it would be nice to see at the least free shipping when you're spending about $100 bucks.

Volt also has a point system in addition to the free shipping and discount. Sure you get what you pay for, but Volt seems to get mainly very good reviews for what it is along with their site and even their juices.

Not sure yet, but I'm going to decide by Sunday at latest.

Are you talking about the Volt - Standard Starter Kit for $44.95?

TWO rechargeable lithium ion batteries
FIVE Filter Tips in selected Flavor and Strength.
ONE USB Charger
ONE USB Wall Adapter

Because just 5 more bucks gets you the Elite kit:

2 ELITE MANUAL BATTERIES
5 ELITE 2ML EMPTY CARTOMIZERS
1 USB CHARGER
1 AC WALL ADAPTER
and a 10ml bottle of e-liquid.

And trust me ... The Elite cartomizers are hands down better than any KR808 carto I've ever tried.
