Nacogdoches City Attorney Rob Atherton is brushing up on E-cigarettes.

"I would feel more comfortable if there was more science behind it or if there was a specific federal regulation," Atherton said. Right now the attorney is just informing the council to get ahead of an issue that's already smoking with debate.

Atherton will address the council tomorrow evening at its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30.

Sounds very encouraging, actually. The way I read it, the Council is looking to educate itself before considering any possible bans, and last night's meeting was for fact-finding. At least they're not jumping on the hysterical ban-them-now-cause-they're-bad-bad-BAD bandwagon.

I hope they just don't read the headlines.

At least the attorney who's advising them sounds like his head is screwed on right. I wonder if he's a vaper? :D
I suggest there are many attorneys today who are vapers.
Something "Mommie FDA" might want to consider before
they release their Monkey Bull-

Picturing a group of enraged vaping attorneys taking on the FDA. Now that's a scenario I'd love to see play out!!!

Thank you for your comments. I trust you shared such with the Mayor and City Council?
The City Council is not scheduled to take action on e-cigarettes tonight, but may provide direction to staff including a wait and see attitude. As always you are welcome to attend the City Council meeting which starts at 5:30PM.

Maybe..just maybe one of em actually read it and realized they needed to learn more
