If your mod is getting hot that is no good at all. Do you mean the part of your mod that is just against the atomizer? Or the entire mod?

The heat could be coming from your battery. If so.... not good at all.

What ohms is your build?
How many amps are you pulling?
What is your battery's amp capability?

These are all important things to know.

Assuming you're building within safe parameter of your battery(please verify this and report back to us for further help), then its normal.

Nano coils produce a TON of instant heat. They literally shoot vapor streams in either direction almost a full foot before the air in the atmosphere breaks up the stream.

This will heat up the atty and the top of the mod. Its OK.

what you DONT want, is for the heat to be coming from the battery, or for the switch to be getting hot. THEN you may have a short.

    Please verify you're building safely.

Seeing a lot of assumption and Absolutes posted.

More research and information should be shared.

My Trident running 2 tight wind Nano Dragon coils does not Heat overly rapidly. Total coil resistance is .85ohms
    Yes Nano's will spit and pop e-liquids - So do my 1.8ohm T3 mini's with 5 loose wraps(spread)

A few things that make things better or worse.
    A Balance of:
    Coil resistance/Design
Liquid Flow - more heat needs more flow
Air Flow - More air flow removes heat

Many other factors are involved but these 3 need to be worked in unison.

A Mod with a 30a battery will also heat less quickly than one with an over taxed 10a battery.

I have 2x0,7 coils in my mod, and my mod gets hot when i chainvape... But its because my dripper sits flush, the heat travel through half my mod... But nothing is wrong and the battery is nowhere near hot...

Remember you have red hot pieces of metal inthere... Is the heat evenly distributed from the top down or is it the button and nothing else thats warm, if you pull the mod apart is the battery the hottest part?

Over 50 different toppers including everything from Clearomizers to Ithaka's to Dual coil Drippers and NONE ever have Red Hot Pieces it there.
Even at .4ohm if they are turning RED HOT, you are doing something wrong and unsafe.

If the battery is getting hot, I'd say you are probably either very close, or even over the C rating of your battery. This is dangerous. A mechanical with an over-drawing coil can effectively be described as a pipe bomb.

With low resistance builds, the atty is going to get warm. When you are pumping out that much vape/heat, getting warm is inevitable. Your mod however, should NOT be getting hot. Maybe warm from holding it in your hand for a long period of time, but not hot.

Ok those just below red hot pieces of metal

The heat from the coil can still heat up the rest... As long as the heat is coming from the coil and not the mod, atomizer or battery he's good

    Transfered heat is not dangerous

But he should get some good batteries to be sure the mod wont become a pipebomb

sorry everyone, i forgot about this thread. I have rebuilt since with no abnormal heat, no heat at all actually. I dont remember the resistance but i think it mightve been a little under an ohm. And the heat was coming from the top cap and top of mod, battery was not warm because i remember checking. And i was most likely chain vaping at the time when i made the thread. BUt anyway, ive rebuilt with dual micros (28g) which came out to a nice even 1.0ohms
