got mine 2-3weeks ago..

the box says 1X 1.6 1X 1.8...

the one that I installed first and had flawless vape was the 1.6...

Then 1.8 worked for a little while (1-2days) then **** hit the fan!!

Ive been vaping on it for 2weeks changing coils every day or so...

Here's what I found...!!!!!!!!
I bough a SS replacement tank when I got the mini...

And after buying a pack of cig because that thing was disgusting... I decided just for the fun of it... try the new tank...
BOOOOOMMMMMM back to awsome vape!!!!!!!! (ive got 1.8 in it right now)

...so... I notice that the SS tank does come with the airway in it... the one you screw the coil in...

Was the other one my issue?! I think so!!!!....

Anyhow... to finish... I examined the original pyrex one... that tube were you screw in the coil... the thread seems funny to me... not equal... and maybe even stripped a little or something...

Hopefully that could help you guys...

SS tank = 10-15$

** Next week or so... ill empty a aspire coil... and build my own to fit in there... I think the wicking system is deficient... and maybe that's not helping the taste of it...

After having had major issues with the BDC Aspire coils I've now moved on to the BVCs with little joy. I'm using 1.8s and when I get a good one it's great however I've had several coils that taste noxious from the start and those never seem to work right even after that toxic taste goes away. I have never had any flooding issues however. It does seem to be a quality control issue. The bottom line is that Aspire is not making reliable coils however well their tanks may be designed. Major fail from Aspire and it has carried over into the BVC coils. If I felt like gambling I'd buy a scratch off ticket. This is ridiculous.

Yes it is. And there is the issue of their safety for inhalation.

On the subject of fiberglass:

http://srs.unm.edu/industrial-hygiene/media/docs/silica.pdf

Multiple studies have found amorphous silica to be biologically inert when
ingested and inhaled, with the exception of extruded fiberglass and ceramic fibers (which have been
designated as carcinogens by the National Toxicology Program), which are hazardous due to their
very small size and their high length to width aspect ratio. Because of this inertness, the US Food
and Drug Administration permits the use of amorphous silica (not fiberglass or ceramic fibers!)
in food
and medicine.

And their tanks are not designed all that well, either.

Good post Katya and yes I didn't even mention the unproven safety (or lack thereof) of inhaling ceramic wick material/particulates. If it turns out not to be safe and a bunch of vapers end up with fibrosis of the lungs it could have damaging implications for the whole vaping industry.

I've gone back to Kanger today by purchasing an AeroTank Mega, hopefully I'll have more luck with it :).

Eh this makes me a bit sad, I was about to make a post about my Naut mini giving me a burning/scratching sensation in my throat (bought it last Tuesday and only started vaping last Sunday,) and I figured maybe the coil was bad, and swapped it for the one in the box, and instantly the same feeling. I've been vaping mothers milk out of the naut. The thing was smooth as can be and flavorful up until last night. What do I do? Try cleaning the 2 coils I got with it? Buy new ones? I'm kinda at a loss here and disappointed that I'm not getting that great performance I got all this week, and even moreso if this $30 tank was a waste, especially as it is my first buy besides me eGo starter kit =/ . Seeing this was the top topic in here when I went to make this post worries me.

My theory is bad coils are from the wire used to make the coil its self. I know Kanger coils you go threw them quickly. When you remove them they basically fall apart. Then I wind my own up and install them and they last longer and all I have to do is change the wick. A quick dry burn of the coil and it is as good as new. I get over ten wickings before I even have to think about changing a coil I made with good wire. That is why I will never buy a tank I can not rebuild the coils. CHEERS!

You could try buying new ones but as I mentioned the problem with Aspire coils is that you never know what you're going to get so it's a roll of the dice.

I feel your pain though, I'm on disability and the 75$ I've put into my Nautilus tank plus coils is no chump change for me either.

As for your used coil you can try cleaning it by running it under some water then blowing the water out from the top via the 4 circular juice intake holes. After a few minutes of vaping you'll know if you're going to get any more life out of it. When I was lucky enough to get a good coil it would be good for a couple of cleanings before I had to toss it.

My Mini came with 2 x 1.8 coils, my friends however which is also genuine but older, came with 1 x 1.6 and 1 x 1.8. My replacement coils that were a freebie promotion were all 1.8 as well; mine have been flawless. This morning, my friends tank started leaking like a sieve, and I was taking a look thinking maybe his seal was factory flipped or something, but noticed he switched his coil out to the 1.6 and even tightening it down well, did nothing for him, still leaking. I swapped the o-rings on the coils from a spare 1.8 I had in my locker and his leaks disappeared for the day, no matter what position he laid his tank in. I wonder if its faulty rings on the older coils.

I have had my Nautilus Mini for a week. The coils are the 1.8, and they seem to work fine, but they do not last. All pass authenticity checks. I changed the first coil at 4 days. (should have changed it on day 3) The second coil was changed at day 3. When I first put it on, and check it, it shows 1.8.... I'm using Boba's Bounty juice. I even thinned it a little yesterday with vodka, just to see if it would help. Just a few puffs after changing the coil, it goes to 1.9 ohms. If it says 2.0 ohms, it has already degraded in taste, and drawing power. After it is on 2.0 for a while, I change it. This is ridiculous. No way I should have to change coils every 3 days.

I'm using the 1.6 BVC in my Mini and my Silo tank and I've been very happy . But, what I noticed and learned pretty early on was the huge amount of condensation left in the drip tip and chimney after a few uses.

The very first night I got my Mini, after about 15 uses, I noticed on my 16th use it started to gurgle. I'm like no way. So I took another draw and gurgle again. I looked into the drip tip and I could see it was just full of vapor and it slowly went away. I think these coils can take so much more heat (and I give it to them) and produce so much more vapor than my other coils, that I had to change up my draw just a bit to accommodate the coils. Now I usually just draw a little bit after letting go of the power or do a lite pull after letting go of the power to draw out all remaining vapor.

Making sure the chimney isn't loaded with vapor and condensation after a hit has cured all my gurgle issues with the BVC'. I haven't had a bad 1.6 yet. I prefer them over the 1.8s.

Maybe our issues are different, but this has totally worked for me. Or maybe there are just that many bad coils out there and It's just luck of the draw :)
