Tastes funky, like overcooked. I'm using the BDC coils as that's all that was available locally. Dry hits and smoky taste here and there. I'm thinking I got a bad batch because the two that came with it were great.

I've been going from about 7 to 15 watts. I know where I should be. Also I plug the hole with my finger to help obtain the vacuum seal. This has helped I think, copied from kayfun tips. I have a my first rta on the way. hcigar 3.1.

The bdc heads don't wick as well as the bvc's imo. I'm on week 3 with my coil at 11.5w max vg. When I put in the new coil my ohm meter showed 1.8 after 3 weeks it's up to 2.1. I started at 9.5 to 10w the first two weeks of use also. My old aspire tanks always gave burnt hits with bdc's and were real inconsistent. The bvc's changed all of my aspires. Even the ET-S with the new vertical is twice the tank now and runs around 9.5w.

The stock drip tips aren't bad with the mini, but I prefer a different mouth feel than what the stock tip provides. I'm using a stainless steel vase tip from IBTanked. Works well and feels more comfortable.

Here's a photo of the IBTanked tip on my mini:
