I'm also disappointed in the Nautilus BVC coils. At first I thought I found the answer to better flavor than the BDC setup in the 5ml Nautilus tank. First of all I'm a chain vaper. And for the first several hours the flavor is the best I've had from the Nautilus. Wow this is great. Then it seems like after a day or so, they start going higher resistance and plugging up making he draw or vape and lot harder and almost impossible to get a good hit after the second or third day until a new coil is installed. Well 10 days later I've going through ten coil heads. At first I was hitting the 1.8 ohm coil with 8 watts for 1 second, 6 watts for 1 second and then the remaining wattage at 5.2 watts. At higher wattage's they go high resistance and plug up even faster it seems. This has worked out great using the BDC heads giving longer coil life in the past for me on a Joytech Evic in automatic Variable wattage mode. After going through a a few BVC replacement heads I tried higher wattage in direct wattage mode and lower wattage in direct wattage mode all with the same results. going through replacement coils every other day is NOT going to do it for me. I've tried 50/50 pg, and 60/40pg juices. So the BVC coils is a fail in my opinion.

While both nautilus and kanger make good tanks my problem wit kanger is that they toss new tanks out so fast it's hard to keep up. I mean until the latest "v2" rev of the dual coil heads the pt3/aero sucked for me... Pick a design and perfect it for crying out loud!

PPL keep wanting something new and different so that is why the keep changing it. They probably have 2 or 3 new designs just waiting to sell to old ones to get their money back before releasing them. I think the V2 airflow is awesome. I wish Nautilus would get their act together and and change their airflow.

I am a kayfun user. I love the flavor and the overall ability to customize my vape. After watching one of my favorite reviewers rave about the nautilis mini and tell even kayfun fans to try the bvc coils I got one. Dumb luck really my local vape shop had one so I bought it.

Now with that intro I may be spoiled but I get a month or better with a coil on my kayfun. I love the hassle free vape of the mini but I vape heavy vg so does this mean I have to replace the coils weekly? When does everyone here replace theirs? I have had the mini about 3 weeks and am getting awful dry hits on the second coil. Is the about average life span?
Until I can get a new bvc head I have been dripping into the top which is just fine by me but it is a tank so I like the no drip convenience. Thanks for any replies and vape on my friends.

A side note. It's a great vape i just do not have much experience with clearos and such "stock" coil devices.

I few things that I do to give me consistent success with the BVC coils
1-I run them at 4.3-4.5 volts
2-never overfill to get proper vacuum
3- you need to increase the voltage or wattage over time.
I used Kayfuns and Russians until these coils hit the market. I have to say that I haven't had any issues at all. I'm getting on average 10 days of quality flavor and performance with these coils.
The Kayfun was a great vape but re wicking every second day was I pain in the .....
Additionally my juice never gets darker in my nautilus tanks like they did in the Kayfuns and Russians.

Thanks jake. I figure I got approximately 21 days out of 2 head so I am at that 10 day average. I need to find a place that sells the bvc coils as my local shop only sell bvc and bdc horizontal coils. If anyone knows a place online to get authentic bvc replacement heads let me know. The bvc seems ok other that a small lack in flavor. But all in all I am on par for this tank so it was my mistake on when to change the coils.

Myfreedomsmokes.com. They are 11.95 for a box of 5.
They also run promos from time to time.

so its not just me very disappointed in the new mini nautilus and bvcs..

Not just you! I am not real pleased with them either... I have tried a little bit of everything and the best flavor I have gotten out of the Nautilus was the 1.6 Ohm BDC coil I bought at my local B&M... I went back and got the 1.8 Ohm and it was average at best...

I'm used to an iClear 16 with a 2.1 and I get better Vapor and Flavor from those... I really want to like the Nautilus but I just can't.

evape.us has Genuine Aspire Products... Their replacement Nautilus BVCs are 9.95 with Free Shipping at $25. I order from them all the time.

Bought my first nautilus today. A big one for me and a mini for my wife. Bought them at ivape in Salt Lake City. Alex , who sold them to us , showed us how to fill them by filling ours. He put four drops in the coil then filled the tank. He then had us take one unpowered draw with the air holes closed and we were good to go. In less than a minute I was vaping away and it worked great.

I have a thread about this similar thing but not quite as extreme as your experience I love the coils but I end up replacing them every 2 or 3 days Or 15-20ml of juice passed through because the degrade in performance just bothers me since I know how well it performs fresh

For those of you having flooding / gurgling issues, I found a solution that worked well for me. When I first started using the Nautilus Mini I had similar issues, but since doing a few simple things I haven't experienced a single issue.

1 - Screw the BVC coil directly into the top cap's center post - NOT the threaded bottom cap with air flow adjuster.
2 - Fill the tank well beyond the 2mm line, almost to the top of the tank, but leave about 1mm of space - you don't want it to overflow when you screw the bottom on.
3 - Screw the bottom cap onto the tank, take a couple of hard dry pulls (without pushing the button) and let it sit vertically for 30 - 60 minutes.
4 - Do not use the smallest air hole to start out with. I use the second-smallest air hole for the first hour or so. Use a bigger hole if you want to.
5 - Start out at a lower voltage than you will vape at once the coil is broken in. I start out at about 3.8V and work my way up to 4.6V (my desired setting) over the course of a day.

NOTE - Sometimes the first few draws will have a bit of a gurgle, but it will go away after 5-10 pulls.

If you're still having issues after this, I would assume your juice is too thin. I use 100% VG that is thinned (from Virgin Vapors) and it wicks flawlessly without flooding. Virgin's 100% VG juice is substantially thinner than traditional VG juices, but still quite a bit thicker than high PG juices.

Hope this helps.

My problem is that I have just never gotten the flavor everyone talks about - with anything. People talk about hints of this or that, "i get this on the inhale and that on the exhale," etc. I've NEVER gotten more than a faint hint of any flavor I've ever tried.

Must be why I keep searching through new stuff. And I'm always disappointed for some reason. Do some people just have the inability to taste vape? I don't have a problem at all tasting anything else.

Whatevs.

What VG / PG ratio are you using? I use 100% VG juices exclusively, and the few times I've tried high PG juices (20 / 80 or 30 / 70 VG / PG) I was blown away by the flavor. I am not keen on inhaling propelyne glycol, but it definitely carries flavor much better than VG.
