When I first got my nautilus tank I overtightened it a few times before I got the feel of it. To the point where I had serious trouble getting it apart. Now all of a sudden it will not close properly. It just pops back apart and spills the juice all over me, lol.
I'm trying to figure out if I need the a whole new bottom part or just the rubber part that seals the bottom?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Check the threads on the coil then the threads on the tank. It sounds like something is stripped maybe you'll be lucky and it'll just be the threads on the coil itself or it could be worse it could be the threads in the chimney as that's what holds everything together with the Nautilus 5 milliliter tank (coil threads into the chimney)

I've always snugged mine down and it seals fine even the clones seal good. My wife used to crank down on hers and sometimes the bvc would stay in the chiminey. I broke her of that finally. If the bvc is popping out of the chiminey something is stripped. Nautilus replacement parts are cheap enough though, if it's not the bvc.

I just got two Nautilus 5.0 BVCs for the first time. No matter what, I get a tiny bit of a gurgling sound; no liquid taste though. Better flavor than a Protank, but I had zero problems with the PT2s. I have been tinkering with the tightening because I have taken off the bottom to look for excess fluid to gurgle. I, also, have blown out the center tube when I removed the bottom.

Is that sound maybe just the coil heating the juice? On the PT2, I could hear the "sizzle" when the coil is hot/burning, but this is just a tad on the "gurgle" side.

Any thoughts/experiences?

Sorry to hear of your issues rebgold. :( Have you checked the tank to make sure it's not cracked anywhere? It's possible the top where the glass merely threads onto the mouthpiece could be damaged?

It's possible that you've pinched the gasket at the bottom with overtightening - I'm not sure if that can be replaced without getting a whole new base.

Hopefully you can get this figured out!

My PT II does the same , pretty sure it's normal.

Geez, yeah these tanks are the best ever...when they work. I've had all sorts of issues, but never that one. I'm not sure if it would help, but since replacing the bottom might entail getting a whole new unit, maybe you could get one of these sleeves? Hollowed Out Tank Replacement for Mini Aspire Nautilus

I just got one and it's pretty nice. I don't trust myself with the glass, so I use that one, or the other silver one with the phallic shaped window. Btw, I'm assuming that you're using the mini, but if not, you can also get the same type of tank replacement for the standard Nauty. Worth a shot. But it sounds like if a new top doesn't work, might have to get a new unit, since I'm not sure if you can just purchase the bottom, or rubber part. Bummer though, best of luck.
