I've made 3 coils for this tank. I've followed the instructional video the Rip did on YouTube. Just instead Using 30 gauge kanthan a1, 2 of these were done on a 2mm screwdriver 1 with 8 coils and another 6. The 8 coil came in at 2.6omh the 6 coil came in at 2.1. My last coil was wrapped on a 1/16th drill bit with 8 coils and came in at 2.3ohms. I want to get a lower resistance around 1.3-1.5. What do I need to do? From other posts I've read ppl using the same gauge on 1/16 bit and 8 wraps are getting 1.5-1.7ohm, I'm getting much higher then that.

any idea on what I'm doing wrong?

I have used twisted 28 or twisted 32 on my Piston RDA as well as my Kayfun 3.1 and Russian 91% and to be honest I personally haven't seen any great difference between twisted wire and regular wire. They seem to hit just the same. Again that's just my opinion.

HUGE difference between using twisted on a RDA and a Nautillus. Physical size of the wire matters due to constraints of the coil housing. It's not about "hitting harder or not".

I agree Susan room is an issue. I was just saying that I don't believe it's a big deal as far as how twisted or regular wire works for me. Sorry for the confusion.

I understand where you are coming from.:)

If the OP only has 30 gauge wire and is having problems wrapping a coil that is 1.3-1.5 ohms, a twisted 30 gauge wire would be another option for lowering the ohms of 30 gauge wire (if twisted wire would fit in the nautillus coil housing).

My guess would be if I were to use the twisted it could only be maybe a 3 wrap coil. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it on this rebuild.

I get 1.5 ohms from 8 wraps of 28ga Kanthal on a 1.83mm rod. That would be a 5/64" drill bit. Wrap the coils tight and close together and you can probably get them into a Nautilus head. I've done 2 ohm with a 32ga 5/4 wrap in a Nautilus. Increasing the wire size to 28ga just makes more wraps necessary.

Everyone needs the artistic coil winder for under $8 at Amazon. It's what makes small coils easy.
