I don't have a Nautilus X, I have a Nautilus 2, but I have heard good things about the X. Are you using the extender kit? That might cause leakage, but I'm just speculating. I know if I overfill my Naut 2, it will leak. I also turn off air holes if it will be non-vertical. That seems to do the trick.

Now, the coils aren't the same, but the Naut 2 can use a 1.8 and 0.7 coil. I vape that 0.7 coil at *10 watts* which isn't a lot, and I can attest that the mod will make a difference. My steampunk is so efficient, I was turning down all my coils, as I just didn't need the power. So, remember that coil usage is an *estimated range* and might differ from mod to mod, or even coil to coil (there's some variance when reading the coil, from mod to mod, as far as resistance, for example).

So, if you are getting a burnt taste, work your way up with wattage, and you should find a "sweet spot" for your vape, that will work for you. Some people LOVE pushing their equipment to the max, but I am not one of them. I have no research to back that up, but I am happiest starting low and slow and staying there, when I can.

Best of luck, the X has good reviews, you may wish to disassemble your tank and see if any O rings are missing or pushed out of place, that might be another reason for leaking.

Best of luck to you!

I was using my Nautilus X this morning and I still say it has to be a problem with a seal because I took mine out of the stand to install it on my MOD but got side tracked. Realized I left it upside down on the desk for a 1/2 hour and still no leaking. I leave it laying on the side all the time and never get leaks.

I have found that my nautilus x needs more liquid than others more regularly. It doesn't do well with a small amount. It seems to like being 1/4 - 1//2 full. I still get surprised when it complains and gives me a burnt vape. It's like a toddler demanding attention. I will try closing the air holes to stop it leaking. Not sure why I'm persevering when I have 2 others. I just don't like. Being dictated to by an atty.

Honestly, what you can vape what coil at often depends as much on your device as it does your coils ratings.

I can vape a 1.8 ohm coil on my provari at 11 watts and it's perfect.. I can take the same coil and put it at 8 watts on a Kanger device, and it's burnt in an hour.

So basically, yes, turn your wattage down. Try it at 10, after deep cleaning the burnt taste out of your tank and changing your o rings (burnt juice is difficult to get the taste out of your tank, it requires some cleaning) if it is STILL burning up the coil, turn it down to 8 watts. You just need to find the happy place for your coil on your device.

Normally, you start low and go up from there until you hit that perfect spot in order to avoid burnt coils.. you might try that in the future.

Yep...works for me too. I use the Aspire Zelos 50w with the 1.8ohm coils at 50/50 liquid. Tried the 1.5ohms but I find the 1.8ohms sitting nice and low at about 8.5-9.5w is a great vape for me. Full of flavour and plenty of vapour - and uses a little less liquid and battery power. As already said, start a new coil low and work up....a bit. Best of luck!

If you are getting leakage using a NaughtyX make sure that the glass is properly seated. It's easy to knock it slightly off center without realizing it and tightening it down anyway because the o-ring on top and the gasket on the bottom are very forgiving. Hold your mod and push the glass gently but firmly down on the gasket at the bottom. Maybe give it a little twist as well. When you tighten the top down it should be even with glass all of the way around.

+1. I don't have that machine, but 14W is far higher than I would be on a 1.8Ω coil. As you say it does better if you turn it down to 10 watts, I suggest you do exactly that. Try the 1.5Ω coil if you want more, but even that I wouldn't push much farther than 12W. Up in the 15ish watt range I'd want to be no higher than about 1.2Ω. YMMV. Welcome to the board.
