Ben check your email...I sent you some information about this.

Can some of the Nebula owners here please check all their batteries and take very careful note of the 2 HOLES machined into the battery sides and their relative positions?

I have found that out of 4 batteries from 2 different Nebula kits I have 1 batt where the holes are positioned at 10pm & 2pm, then another batt where the 2 holes are positioned at about 9:30 & 2:30, and then 2 other batts at the 9 & 3 position. I have found the 9 & 3 position to be very problematic for me as im having trouble keeping it lit and vaping well unless i drag really hard on it, whereas the batt with holes at 9:30 & 2:30 position seems to work great!

Can anyone else confirm this by chance, or is it just me?

Thanks guys/gals!

right...well actually theyre very slightly offset from center notch but yes..those would be the 9 & 3 position i mentioned...you dont know what yer missin because for me, the 930 & 230 positioned holes are waaay better. You can drag much easier and produce twice the vapor and throat hit :))

By easier..Do you mean a lighter draw?

My Batteries are at 9 & 3 also and I have no problems with draw or vapor. I put my 901 atty on it just for S&G and it works just fine, and that has no notches just 1 air hole.

On a side note I feel this is the best of both worlds as I have a sick looking e-cig for work & going to the bar with, (all matte black no tip) also I can put the whistle tip on a cartomiser or the 901 atty w/ tip when needed and I have my hands free video gaming e-cig :sneaky: I'm loving it.

When I put an atty on I make sure the hole lines up with the notch in the cart to prevent whistle.

Hey, thanks for this tip! It should be in the FAQ!

I'm confused about what you mean... holding the notch horizontally, I would consider the 9 & 3 position to line up with the center of the notch, not be offset?

Holding the notch horizontally, one of my Nebula batteries has the holes at 2 & 8 and one at 5 & 11.

One I got from China has the holes at 2 & 8 and one at 4 & 10.

Haven't used up my first battery charge yet, so don't know about performance differences!

[edit]Well, I just discovered that my other Nebula battery appears to be DOA...[/edit]

There are two center contact piece slots; one on the battery, and one on the cartomizer. The slot on
the cartomizer is so shallow that I don't even worry about it. But, with the slot on the battery, I try to
keep it in alignment with the two thread body holes by taking a small flat-head screwdriver and gently
turning the center contact piece until the slot and the holes are perfectly aligned.

I cannot guarantee the safety in doing this, but it does improve the air-flow.

Phi, nice discovery!

Thanks, but this alignment of the slot with the holes is only part of the air-flow 'equation'. The other part (which RobW noted for us), is: When tightening the cartomizer to the battery, make sure that you don't cover up the two air-holes in the battery's thread body.

The smoothest (and quietest) air-flow is achieved when both of these steps are taken.

Just tried turning it and it was much easier than I expected it to be... pretty much makes the hole position a non-issue! :D
