As a whole, they typically come from the same place. The differences are in the overall quality and each "manufacturer" has spec guidelines for selecting their cells. Obviously the pannies are of the higher quality (it's their name on the cells), then AW (also panny cells)..so on a so forth. I'm going to do a bit more researching on the EH and EFest though.

I actually ran across that thread yesterday and just took another gander, as I didn't read much of it, but bookmarked. Gotta run and do a tear down in Fallbrook, but will be done for the day afterwards. I'll start my batt research and read some more of this!

Wire Rope for Wick?

I don't know. Maybe on a bottom coil set up. I just don't see capillary action in strands.
I am probably wrong but don't see how strands would draw.
