I don't want to be premature.....but I think I got it.....i wrapped a new coil......so far all coils are glowing nicely......

I'm thinking that if the mesh is oxidized well, soaked in liquid, coiled around the rope and then a few juice burns.. it should stay on there pretty well. If the edge of the mesh isn't properly oxidized and it ends up resting on the base (around the wick hole) it may short out those lower coils..

I have a nice piece cut, mesh cut and wire cut.. One of my DUDs is cleaned out and ready to go.. My small bottle of VG is out.. Meter is out.. Torch is out.. That's as far as I got before getting sidetracked, lol. Didn't even bandage up. I think I'm gonna let it sit out while it's glued. Although, the chunk of skin that is hanging there didn't stay flat as the glue dried, lol. I think if I let that sit for a little bit, it should allow the underneath to heal enough where it will be dandy from here on out!

I bought a meter at menards the other day....it doesn't work the greatest. I have to hold the probes perfectly still and it still seems to jump around a lot.
You should just rip that chunk of skin off....
