Need a bit more help please - adjustment issues

I received my order last Thursday (great customer service!!) but I haven't been able to get back on the forum since.

I've noticed a few things that I need some advice with. Does a cough mean I need a lower mg? When I take a 'hit' I cough. I also find that sometimes the cart gets hot enough to sting, is that normal? Does that mean it's time to replace the cart? I'd like to order more carts but I'm not sure what to get. I'm still smoking analogs (merit ultra light 100s), have the feeling that I need a real cig after vaping for a bit, is that normal? I realize it's less than a week and it will take some time before I can drastically cut down and eventually quit analogs. Also, when I do place my order is it possible to get a mixture of single carts rather than a full box of each flavor?

Even though I'm having trouble adjusting, I'm not giving up and am telling everyone I can about vaping!!

What strength carts did you get? Merit, from what I remember, were almost like no throat hit at all. The ultra lights would be even less.

Some people do have an adjustment period when they first start vaping. I did. I smoked and vaped for around two weeks. But now not cigs, just vaping. Some people don't have an adjustment period. They open up their box the day they get it and never touch a real cigarette again.

About the different carts, you'll need to ask Steve.

I cough a little, but i think thats just adjustment, and it's not enough to bother me. Mine occasionally gets hot enough to sting, but I'm drifting away from smoking it like a cigarette already - I'll have a puff every couple of minutes, not a dozen puffs every half an hour, that kinda thing in general, then it never gets too hot. I have had the urge for a real cigarette a couple of times, so i switched from the 11's to the 24's and took a few hits, and the urge abated. I'm only 24 hours in though, but I'm thinking I'll be avoiding analogs altogether.

Andy - Thanks! I have RY4-11, Marl6 and french pipe 8 (Love french pipe!) I notice that if I take a slow long draw to get enough vapor that it gets very hot. Since I do ok on the french pipe, I'm thinking that I should try other flavors, not sure which. Should I 'up' the mg?

I'd up the mg a lil yeah. Another thing i noticed is some flavours make me cough a little more than others, and some sem more satisfying than others. i.e. Steve gave me a DocPepper 12mg i think it was, and it's tastier and more satisfying than the mboro 18s (to me) The RY 24 is nice, but the cappichino 24 is a bit heavy - so I reccomend trying a few flavours.
I ordered 5 vanilla 11's, 5 mboro 18's and 5 cappichino 24's, and the vanilla are ok, a little weak for me i think, not sure if it's teh flavour or the mg, the mboro i don't much like but the doc pepper he added and the RY are both nice, I think in future I steer clear of any tobacco flavoured ones and stick more with fruity or sweet. I also had a peanut butter cup, which, well, is not my cup of peanut butter and coconut, which isn't bad, but not a huge coconut fan i think. Been planning and re-planning my next order, even though I cant afford it yet, but I'm thinking of going with doc pepper and mebbe trying out pineapple or peach cobbler or orange or something, all around the 18-24 mark - Dr Pepper will be 12 or whatever I currently have as it's tasty there - I used to smoke american ultralights, and I don't want to get too much more nic, but I'm happy to go over some to help keep me off the smokes, and then cut back down later once I havent got the 'at odds' sort of feeling from the lack of the nasty cocktail of chems that the tobacco companies put in teh smokes, which might be purified cancer serup but really did help hit the spot (and hit it, and hit it, till it was a beaten up pulp).
Started smelling things this afternoon, mixed blessing. the office bathroom really does stink, and my wife's perfume really is nice. mixed bag.

Omg, that is so true about the rapidly and sometimes alarmingly returning sense of smell! I've been frantically cleaning the house and it's not because of the tobacco smell or staining, I just need things to smell really good right now. I did not know my dogs smelled like, well, dogs.

I'll order some higher mg and some flavors. I wanted to stay with the tobacco taste so I wouldn't 'feel' like I was quitting. Your sense of smell returned after 2 days?!! You too Gee? Yikes! I'm not sure I Want that! between the dog and a house full of nicotine, never mind some of my co-workers!

MeMa. I can tell you I smoked malboro ultralights for a long time at 2 packs a day and I am at 24mg on the carts and it doesn't seem strong enough. I think one of the issues with smoking ultra lights is that we tend to suck harder for the same effect.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you take direct lung hits, you will be much more likely to cough. A good mouth hit, then inhale, seems much smoother, even when getting a good throat hit.

I really love the Cognac 24. I have a bunch of stuff to try too. I have had the Doc Pepper at 11mg and taste is great but that hit doesn't do it for me yet. I only had mine for like 36 hours and I have yet had a analog cig.

i was smoking close to 2 packs of full flavor doral 100's and now i just vape 12mg (approximately) menthol more or less constantly.

day number 4 and counting, one drag of a cig since i got my kit i guess just to confirm it tastes like crap.

I have tried the doc pepper, cognac, coconut, cola, french pipe, cappuccino, peanut butter, and coffee. Fixing to place another order too. LOL

Yes I did get them with intent of quitting. I am really tired of the smell of analog cigs and spending the money on them as well as the health aspect.

Dx - I love the french pipe but need more of a cig taste for the most part. I don't care for the cappuccion and coffee but do want to try the peanut butter. Hubby is sticking with the menthol so whatever I end up ordering will be all for me LOL!

I think the RYE has more of a tobacco flavor. And if you have analogs around you will use them. I smoked my last analog before I started using the VK. It really help[ not to have them around. Hardest part is after I eat cuz I so want a real one but I push through.

What strength and flavors are you vaping right now? And are you taking many hits consecutively and therefore over heating the carto? If the carto is getting really hot, you may burning your cartos by letting them overheat and in that case you will definately get a burning harsh taste. Some people have two batteries going at the same time when power vaping to prevent that.

Have you tried a different carto? And different strengths and or flavors with the same results?

The only thing I'm certain of for my next order is another battery or two!

Dx, yeah, having analogs around is a lot of the problem. I know I should quit, but I'm not sure I want to - sooooo - I'm hoping that quitting is one of the side effects of vaping!
