I received my order last Thursday (great customer service!!) but I haven't been able to get back on the forum since.
I've noticed a few things that I need some advice with. Does a cough mean I need a lower mg? When I take a 'hit' I cough. I also find that sometimes the cart gets hot enough to sting, is that normal? Does that mean it's time to replace the cart? I'd like to order more carts but I'm not sure what to get. I'm still smoking analogs (merit ultra light 100s), have the feeling that I need a real cig after vaping for a bit, is that normal? I realize it's less than a week and it will take some time before I can drastically cut down and eventually quit analogs. Also, when I do place my order is it possible to get a mixture of single carts rather than a full box of each flavor?
Even though I'm having trouble adjusting, I'm not giving up and am telling everyone I can about vaping!!
Even though I wasn't smoking, I felt really "edgey" for a couple of weeks until I increased my nic strength. So I would suggest getting some higher ones to have on hand when you just need a little more nicotine.
Yes, I've noticed that cartos in my auto battery seem to get hotter than in my manual. But maybe I just took more successive drags to get the same effect as the manual (I do prefer the manual). But if it's hot enough to sting you, you're probably vaping on it too long. Like others have suggested, maybe you can have 2 of them going so you can switch back and forth.
Today I actually had 4 going because I was vaping on 4 different flavors -- an auto, a manual, and I was also using 2 901 batteries with cartomizer adapters on them. The 901 batteries aren't nearly as good as the VK batteries, though -- way, way too much air flow. The adapter itself has a hole drilled in it. I don't really care for that design. But I fixed the issue by sliding one of those little rubber condoms that come on the cartomizer over the hole. That made the drag kind of hard, but better than nothing but air coming through it.
As far as your cough goes, I think all of us experience that in the beginning. Vaping is not exactly the same as smoking. But remember what you did the first time you smoked a cigarette? Most likely you coughed. Vaping is healthier than smoking, but it's still going down your throat into your lungs, and you're not used to inhaling vapor. Your body will adjust to it, though. The other thing is the PG, which in the beginning can have a very drying effect and also make you cough. Be sure to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
One more thing, you might experience sore throat as well. A lot of us did for the first few days to a week or so. But that goes away as your body gets used to this vaping thing.
So don't be hard on yourself -- it takes awhile to make the switch. And everybody does it at their own pace. Be sure and let us know how it's going for you.
