i got a copper vein a couple of weeks ago and to stop it from losing its finish the first thing i did was take it to pieces and put two coats of clear polyurethane on it. I have used it all last week (since my black beater grand is at Robs for a pre-Xmas facelift) and I'll post a pic of it in a few weeks time along with one taken when new to see if it worked.

Nerak thanks! That really helps. I'm thinking I'm going with the Hammertone. My fist REO is a Copper Vein and it is indeed sexy. I just couldn't quite tell how dark they are or really compare to each other on the website. How does the texture compare on the Hammertone to the Copper vein? Looks about the same from the pics.

I noticed mine has darkened quite a bit, I guess from hand oils & such. I've tried scrubbing it but doesn't seem to come off. (shrug) gives it character. I did drop it & scuff up the corner a little and fixed it with a dab of black fingernail polish. Worked really well.

The Hammertone finish is really glossy. A smooth feel but you feel the bumps. Tough to describe. The Copper Vein I think is a little less slick feeling. Not too much difference between the two. Both give more of a grab texture than anodized.

The Black Wrinkle is more tactile. I think it feels like a very fine grit sand paper. Smooth, but more non-slip feel.

I will remind you :)

Black Wrinkle is very pretty, but seems to wear pretty easily, I assume the other paints do as well. Anodized for me from now on :) My anodized silver Grand's fist birthday is tomorrow, and it looks brand new still.

I have a black wrinkle and use it all the time with no wear on the paint. I love the soft texture :)
