I need a more complex formula for my "since my last analog" signature. I haven't quit completely. I have been smoking a few analogs a day. It would be cool if I could still show how much money I have really saved.

Like if I smoked 20 analogs a day, at around $5/pack. Then quit for 24 hours, but still smoked 4 analogs that day, My sig would say that I saved $5 minus the 4 analogs i smoked. So it would say I have saved around $4.

Anyone know of such a "last analog" banner? Or know how I could make one. I keep editing my sig to show how long it's been since my last analog. And it makes it look like I haven't saved any money. It would be cool if I could have a similar sig, that would let me input if I smoke an analog. That way instead of having a sig that says "it's been 1 hour since my last analog, I saved $0.11". Instead it could show that I have actually saved much more, because I have actually saved $15-20 since I started vaping, and that number keeps growing around $5/day.

Never got a reply, so I'm guessing such a thing doesn't exist? Maybe there's no real demand for anything like that, I must be the only one. But it doesn't really matter anymore, because I have updated my sig banner since my last analog, and haven't had one since. So I don't need any fancy formula to show how much I've saved. But of course now that I don't need it, I'll probably get solution or alternative option. LOL

just click on the banner sig you want,,

settings, then signature setting and add forum link

Huh? I think you may have misunderstood my question. I know how to create & use the sig banners. I wanted one that would reflect a more accurate count of the money I saved, and analogs avoided.

Like if I was smoke-free for 1 month, but cheated a few times and had 1 or 2 analogs. I thought it be neat to be able to add that to the formula to show how much money I have actually saved, and analogs avoided. Something like.....

"30 days smoke free - 900 cigs avoided (minus 2) - $225 saved (minus what ever 2 analogs cost me, 50 cents?)"

I know it sounds silly, and I probably shouldn't get to "technical" with cheating a little, just thought it be neat at the time. But at of the time of THIS post, I have been analog free for over 3 days, and haven't cheated once in the last 3 days. So currently, I don't really need the complex/advanced formula banner.

I'll just not cheat & smoke an analog, and I won't have to worry about finding such a banner. LOL

I like the idea. I went back on the vape at the beginning of this month. I have only smoked a pack and a half in 25 days, down from a pack a day. It would be cool to have a signature that reflects how many cigarettes I have avoided do to the vaping. I don't consider my smoking cheating though. I'm not hardcore about quitting. The past couple of times I started vaping, eventually the urge to have an analog just went away after a while. I'm still in a phase that I cannot vape for the first few hours of the day for some reason. It is very painful for me in the morning. By afternoon, I can vape without discomfort. I have an analog or two just to get me to the point I can vape without coughing my guts out and feeling like my lungs are going to explode. The lung problem gradually gets better over time as the urge for cigarettes subsides and my lungs start to clear up.

IMO, tracking "cheats" is beside the point. The goal is to quit smoking (analogs), and as such, it's not so important how many you do smoke as how many you don't smoke. So, yeah - have one or two (or four or five) a day - it doesn't really matter. Tracking expenditures to the extent of what a single analog costs strikes me as being a little OCD, and kinda kept me from writing my own as you've described.

I like your point. I think I'm going to take that attitude towards quitting. Thanks!

well for me the banner indicated that i actually quit,,how many i had not smoked..

if i cheated and had an analog i would erase this banner and start all over at square one !!

after 34 years smokin,,enough was enough

I did break down and smoke 1 analog earlier. Family was stressing me out, so I fired one up. And honestly, I didn't even enjoy it. I still wasn't satisfied when I finished it. I ended up vaping right afterwards, and believe it or not, I got satisfied.

However, the little over 3 days of no analogs was a HUGE success for me. I don't think I'm going to restart the clock on my banner over that 1 analog. I still avoided almost 100 analogs to that one I didn't.

I get your question exactly and was just thinking the very same thing recently. I used to smoke 18 analogs a day and since I've started vaping, it's down to about 2 per day. I would like a banner that allows to put in a number of analogs smoked per day.

Couldn't find exactly what I wanted, and not intelligent enough to make my own. So I just added a line after my sig banner saying how many analogs I've had. It's not really for anyone else to see. It's more just for me, so I can keep track of my progress, and see how many analogs I truly avoided, and how much a truly saved. I originally was restarting my sig every time I smoked an analog. I wish I wouldn't have done that now.
