Ok everyone I know that every mod question has been asked and answered but I still have to ask LOL I am really interested in making my own VV Box mod but specific to myself. I have limited to no electrical experience other then the "hit and fix" but that's not going to stop me :)
So here we go :
My vvpv is pretty simple in (my) theory I want it to have variable voltage w/LCD indicator 0-7.0v, A long batt life if possible, LCD lights, my coose in button(s), and a cool outer shell (of course). Simple right lol not for me :/
I have seen Madvapes VVPV DIY setup and that's fine and dandy but I don't want to buy someone elses mod. I'd would like to get all parts separate myself and put my twist on it.
Now this is where you say "Really WT"
As I said I have NO electrical experience and to boot not a whole lot of money, hence the DIY and not Custom made :p This is when the big questions come in :D
Compared to a non LCD indicator + LCD lights for effect VVPVs (Example: Madvapes DIY Kit) what would I need to add to make it work and still keep decent battery life and no drop in voltage. If anyone has a pic of a similar setup schematic that would help a lot. I understand the basic Box MOD and how to build it but when it comes to regulators and modules etc etc I'm lost
I know of 2 places to buy supplies MV and radio shack. My question is are there others? Also a place where to get a original color box to put the wired stuff in lol Excuse my technical lingo :p

Thanks everyone and sorry to ask a already dragged out question :)
I have the MOD bug

There are better more efficient regulators that will give you a little more battery life, but for $2.20 you can't beat the LM2596 and I normally get them in 10 days from China. If like me you will use it mostly as a PT then the slight loss in battery life isn't a problem. Now if yow want to build a BMW instead of a Ford look in the threads for others. If you want to assemble your own regulator look at the evercool thread.

Yea I would rather build a CHEVY then a FORD or a BMW LOL The only reason I ask is I hate waiting and am leary of international ebay purchases. Thanks so much BJ43 I appreciate all the help :) I hate to say it but now I feel as I'm stealing your MOD idea LOL But it is a great idea though.
I like the word sharing better....
