alright so i really don't know what is going on but the past couple days my mechs are just taking a beating. my brass stingray clone is totaled because i dropped it on the floor and broke the 510 in the top cap. now my turtleship clone rolled off of my bed and got a little dent in the side(lucky didn't go all the way through and risk shorting the circuit). now that I'm down to only one mech I'm really nervous and need a new backup ASAP. i really just want something reliable and durable. i was looking at the cartel floe from infinite but i really like a flush look so I'm not a fan of it being wider than my 22mm attys. any ideas?

I'm really not a clumsy person at all!!! i don't know whats going on the past few days. up until now i had never dropped or broken any piece of vaping gear.

Didn't you try vaping straight off the coil a few weeks ago after you forgot to put the cap back on? You might want to rethink that "I am not a clumsy person" statement. :p

Put if you break them a lot... rather then buy one backup, you might want to get a couple. My Hcigar Nemesis Clone is my work mod and it's taken a beating. My Cana mod has been dropped and is still ticking. I'd recommend something cheap and good that you use for work and keep the good ones at home next to you chair or on your desk.

I told you it was time for a new mod!

I just bought a Gnome over at FT now that my stingray is on its way out. Stainless Steel, magnetic switch, lock ring, solidly built. Drawback is that it's an 18650 only mod.

$19.35 Gnome Mechanical Mod - 1*18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Similar to the gnome is the atomo which fits all battery sizes:

$19.49 Atomo 2 Style Mechanical Mod - 18350 / 18500 / 18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'm also getting a 4nine. No lock ring. Cheap cheap cheap!

$12.96 4Nine Style Mechanical Mod - 18350/18500/18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The launcher is a tank and gets excellent reviews. Inexpensive. Migh be wider than you want and no magnetic spring.

$16.79 Launcher Telescopic Mechanical Mod - stainless steel / copper contacts at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Just some of the mods I thought were cool.

I have several mechs. So i would say first if you want durable get stainless steel. Copper is soft and strips easy and bends easy also will oxidize. To a lesser degree brass is the same. I have a Hcigar SS nemesis that i got just for that reason. Got mine on Ebay. The mechs i have are the Copper Hades, K101, Brass Magneto and a retired sieg #19 (pos). I have heard of problems with the Stingray magnetic switch so i avoided that mech. I'd spend a little more than than what you can get on fasttech. Oh I shop on FT all the time just know what not to buy. If your not a cloud chaser you don't need a copper or brass mod. I've dropped my Stainless steel neme and Seven 22 a few times and only broken the drip tips which are either plastic or use a plastic insulator as it seems they hit on the drip tip most of the time so i have a break the tip philosophy rather than the tank or mod.

I have a dozen or so of THESE. I have one in my car and my truck and several spares that I haven't opened yet. For me, they're the best mechs that I've found. Additionally, they don't roll off tables, countertops, etc. because of the hex-shaped nuts at both ends. I've tried several different brands and always come back to these.

I have a Maraxus clone (Won't tell you where I ordered from, it's a bad clone that I can't take the switch apart on... Happy with it other than that tho so another clone would probably fit you well) and it's a tank. Feels heavy in the hand, and I've dropped it on cement a few times and had it fall off my desk countless only resulting in a couple small scratches, no dents. My atty however looks like it was put up to a belt grinder in spots :p

Also you might wanna look at the Manhattan from Amerivapes... Haven't used one personally, but all the reviews I've seen of it say it's an extremely solid mod.

Like Dissonance said above.. the Maraxus is a good rugged mod. I use mine as my daily beater. I've dropped various pieces/the whole mod on concrete multiple times and it hasn't done much damage. Some people get maraxus clones where the bottom button is sealed, but I can unscrew mine and replace the springs. Mine has a white cap on the switch, I've seen others with the black cap that doesn't come out. AR mod looks like another good rugged mod.

My main beater mod is a Wooliston (magneto clone, which is a Nzonic clone). I picked it up for less than 15 bucks in a trade here at ECF. I Have dropped it on the sidewalk, kicked it across the room, fell off the counter into the cat's water bowl, etc. This thing is almost indestructible. It comes with a magnetic switch, as well. You can pick one up from FT (link) for less than 23 dollars. The only issue that I have with it is the nut inside of the mechanical switch. It can come loose occasionally. A little lok-tite took care of that problem. Some research on the forums indicate a larger than average voltage drop, but I haven't seemed to notice. Definitely my number 1 recommendation.

Stainless steel is the way to go for a less destructible mod. I have a Black Copper Stingray, and destroyed the threading on the large tube. The largest I can go is now 18490 with the two, smaller, tubes. On the other hand, I've got a genuine Lernaia Hydra and an Hcigar Nemesis in stainless steel. Both are holding up far better.
