I'm a big fan of 5 volt vaping myself. But, you can simulate this to a large extent with lower-resistance atties/cartos. They don't last quite as long (lifetime) but provide more TH and vapor. You didn't really indicate your setup, or what ohm atty/carto you are using, but you may wish to try 2.5 ohm, 2.0 ohm atty/carto. I had almost completed a longer post on devices and types, and then fat-fingered the keyboard and lost it..... anyway please reply with your current device info and we can get more specific.
If you insist on tossing your current device, the NEW device choices are so varied... wow. It really depends on your preferences:
You need to decide on voltage (oomph) and form factor (and price, and features, and and and) but the most important, IMO, is voltage choice. You can either go "stock retail" with the 3.x volt devices like a super-mini, eGo, Box mod, Juice-feeder... or get a variable voltage mod, or standard 5v mod. I'm not even counting higher voltage mods in this discussion.
If you insist on a cig-sized model, then you are at 3.2 volts-ish. Use the LR atties/cartos but the battery will not last long, and you will tire of it soon.
If you want ease of purchase/use/parts - get an eGo/Riva type of unit, 1000+ mah. 2.0 to 2.5 ohm atties.
5 volt, research the mods. Or get a 5v passthru and a 2.0 amp USB wall plug with 3.0 ohm atties and try out 5 volt vaping. Then research the heck out of mods and find a 5v or vv that's right for you.
Summary: want TH and vapor production = want oomph. battery size = power for oomph. volts = oomph and/or LR = oomph.
Good Luck!
P.S. There's actually an equation that helps with this: oomph (watts) = V * V / R. Where v is the volts, and R is the ohm rating of the atty/carto. There's details, but the bottom line is you probably want to shoot for at least 7 watts (8 is probably better). My guess is you're at around 4 now, but IDK without knowing your setup. So you see, you can get oomph by lowering resistance, or upping voltage. The higher voltage stuff is more robust and lasts longer.
P.P.S. Sorry to hit a 14-day-er with all this.. lol. I was in a typing mood. Don't let it scare ya off tho. Dig in and have fun. I'm probably going get crap for this, but they say "when in doubt, get an eGo type unit!" (The eGo hater's club is going to write me for that one....)
