Ok sooo... I am a total noob, BUT i have been pouring over this forum, and all the shop sites i can find. For about a week and a half now. I want to make the switch over to vaping, but with the gov't issues lately, and trying to get everything set to take my family with me to europe for a few years. Money has been a lil short. SO i'm trying to start on a budget. However given my personal facts: pack and half to two packs a day for at least the last 6 years of Marlboro reds or special blends full flavor type analogs. I know i'll probably be happiest with a pen style 801, 306, 201 or higher. I'm looking at maybe an eGo style, but not sure exactly what all i would absolutely need to start. Nor can i find the best deals cuz everyone calls them something a lil bit different. Any help would be great, and i've already read a lot. I'm mainly just looking for the best deals people know about for in the next week or so.

The eGo and Riva are pretty much the same thing and given how much you smoke, I think you'll need something like that rather than a little battery. The Riva is out of stock at liberty flights and that was the best deal. Litecig wasn't too bad last time I looked though. However, given the fact that you are leaving the country. You might want to consider the e-power. madvapes has them. I'm not sure who else. It's like an eGo. The advantage is that it uses a generic battery which you should be able to get wherever you go. You should also be able to get a charger that can be used without an adapter for the plugs where you end up.

Where are you going in Europe? You need to see if supplies can be had there. They can't in some countries.

Getting started is a little pricey but for a moderate to heavy smoker switching to vaping exclusively the savings quickly cover the initial cost.

Liberty-Flights has a pretty good deal on an eGo Kit, (ECF special) pick up a drip tip they are vital for tasting juices without filling a cart. but you would probably want to move into cartomizers I found some good cartos at COV for about 10% less than where I have been getting them. and I would suggest juices from a premium juice manufacturer, they seem to be far better than juices available from hardware suppliers for the most part. Not to say that some Hardware places don't have good juice but I favor the carefully blended premium juices.

Liberty Flights still has some RIVA 510 lite bundles. It's the special edition they are out of. I don't see the difference on their webpage, received mine today & it's charging. Took a few hits first and it is much better than what I have now. I was also having trouble with juice -- could get vapor or throat hit but not both so I tried Backwoods Brew. It's still steeping but a couple flavors gave me vapor, TH and great flavor. Go with 24 mg. nicotine since you're not a light smoker. There is a learning curve but this site will help you a lot. Good luck.

It may be my browser but, I've had several people correct me when I say LF is out of something. I run linux and can't run Internet Explorer. I don't see that %20 off button either. So, good I'm glad they aren't out. :)

I was in the same position as you a couple weeks ago, and at the suggestion of the helpful peeps on this forum, I purchased the Riva 510. I got the lite edition from Liberty Flights for 29.99, and I also picked up some boge cartos and a drip tip.

I'm totally loving my purchase. The price was right, and the battery lasts me all day without even needing the spare. I particularly like the drip tip. I hate the hassle of filling cart(o)s, and the drip tip is proving to be exactly what I needed; definitely worth the 1.60.

On my first juice purchase, before I got the new Riva, I went to AVE and picked up the Boba's Bounty everyone is always raving about. I completely love it and just purchased a much larger bottle. I also picked up some juice from hitliquids. The flavor selection is small and the bottles only come in 20ml, but the price is right: with a 15% off and including shipping, I got 40mls for 12.00.

I can tell you that I picked up a smokeshop generic ecig about a month ago, and while it dropped my analog usage a bit (from about 10/day to 5-7), since I received my Riva, I've only had 5 analogs total, and those are more out of habit than actual need.

Good luck with your decision. I certainly know it can all be overwhelming, but everyone around these parts is very helpful!

Danku, first I was in your spot and thought that it HAD to look/feel like an analog, purchased a kit, loved the idea of all of it. Used this one little 510 sized kit (with a single batt) for three weeks...what a pain.....Waiting to charge, little vapor, limited supply of cartridges. Then I found the ecf(didn't have a clue how Istumbled in here)but boy am I glad I did.

I purchased a 510 kit with push button and two batts. Loved the fact I didnt have to wait for one to charge. A few days later one of my batts wouldnt charge and I found Rob over at Good Prophets. I immediately picked up an eGo kit with two batts and realized I was playing a mind game with myself about the fact that it had to be anything like an analog. I love the big battery! I charge it after I get home for a couple hours and can vape all day with no worries about how or where power is to be found. I get 10-15 hrs out of a single batt and I know that if I have to my 2nd battery is charged and ready to go.

If you have the minor extra money that can be invested in a bigger eGo style kit it will save you money in the long run by giving you noting but dependable vaping. Be sure you find a dependable supplier of parts and e-liquid, I would suggest beginnig around 24(my 2 cents) Find an appealing liquid an give it a go. Nothing you find in an e liquid will taste like an analog but, everything I have tried is far more interesting.

I smoked for 22 years, 1.5+packs a day for the last 10. My days are now measured in drops. Boy is it nice.
Good Luck ,Happy Vaping.
