UPDATE: Thanks for all of the great advice! I think I'm going to go with an iStick 50w.

What tank should I use for this? I would like adjustable air flow so I'm thinking Aspire Nautilus or a Kanger Subtank but I'm not sure what size? Does it matter what size for an iStick 50w?

Hey everyone,

I hope I got the right forum for this. I was wondering what would be the best device to "graduate" to. I am currently using a Kanger EVOD clearo and I was looking at a MVP 3.0 with a Aspire Nautilus tank. I vape primarily a heavy VG juice that I love, but the clearo just doesn't cut it anymore (even if I use distilled water with the juice), it gets clogged and the vapor gets very thin. I'm hoping that the MVP 3.0 VV and VW can help with this problem. Let me know if I am on the right track with this device, I really like the features of the MVP 3.0 and I really like the air flow option of the Aspire tank.

Thanks for any help,

Jeremy

I would go with an iStick 50W or iPV mini v2 personally. Both are cheaper then the MVP and have more power available. Even if you don't need the extra power now it will save you from having to upgrade again if you do. If you really only want a 30w device then an istick 30 would be a better choice for half the price of the MVP.

I myself like the quality of the MVP (any)

- Innokin iTaste MVP3.0 30W 3800mAh Mod

- Innokin iTaste MVP 20 Watt - 101 Vape

and think the very cool horizontal coil (OCC) dual purpose, large Subtank rocks...

- Kangertech Subtank Mini 4.5ml Tank

- Subtank Mini 22mm - Kanger Subtank - Kangertech - Clearomizers Tanks

This ^

Unless you want to take a huge step and get into mechanical mods and or RDA's. There are benefits but it will require higher "maintenance" and also have a learning curve. But don't let that scare you if you are considering it, you are already a member of this forum and will be able to find all the info you would need here when getting started. But with all that aside if you want a good vape and don't want to be tied to something "high maintenance" then I think what gymrat said wont steer you wrong.

It sounds like we are taking similar paths. I upgraded to an Aerotank 2 from an Evod. It hits much better, holds more liquid and has adjustable airflow. But it will take the same coils as your Evod so you can still use both if you want (I did for a while but recently got a mini protank for the glass). I just got an MVP 2 used and yeah, great quality and definite upgrade from spinners. But like the other poster said I need more power so i am waiting on the 50 watt iStick and a Subtank. Not to discourage you from the mvp3 I'm sure that's a great box.

most common size for the delux tanks
is 22mm

the top of the iStick 50W is appx 22.5mm

designed to work with the 22mm tanks (and smaller)

subtank /capacity
-nano 18.5mm / 3ml (no rba)
-mini 22mm / 4.2ml with or without rba
-big subtank 25mm / 6ml- coil / 4.5ml - rba

-atlantis 22mm / 2ml

I think Subtank mini is best value / performer IMO

:)

Thank you! I was hoping to go with Kanger and this confirms it. Just ordered the iStick 50w with a Subtank Mini. Can't wait to fill it up with Vapor Jam One Louder and fire it up!

very welcome, glad to lend a hand ;)

you should be VERY VERY happy
because that should work out to be a sweet set-up...

did you order spare coils ?
if you can $$, suggest one 5-pak of each
1.2 & .5 ohms (should set you for awhile)

Sounds good. What is the difference between 1.2 and .5 on the OCC's? What would I use each one resistance for? Do I need to order both?

OK, so the Subtank MINI comes with:
•a rebuildable atomizer deck (RBA)
•a .5Ω coil
•a 1.2Ω coil

-the RBA you make your own coil at what Ω you prefer

-the .5Ω screw-in coil should be hot (requires more watts)

-the 1.2Ω screw-in coil should be cooler (requires less watts than above)

all I can say is MAYBE (maybe) you'll like both at different times
and probably will want to switch them out and around

then there is rebuilding the screw-in coils
and later you can also build the RBA as you please

so as I said, a very versatile device

and if you have the dough, buying a 5-pak of each
would sit you pretty for awhile as you learn what YOU want...

Ok, so now you want advice on the tank to get as you decide on the I Stick 50w RIGHT? Here are my recommendations:

Joytech Delta II: An amazing clearo, 4ml of juice, organic cotton in the coils, the flavor is a bit better then the Subtank Mini IMO (might just be because it can handle higher wattages which I like) and it is rated for higher wattage then the Subtank. I vape it at 50w daily with VG juice and haven't gotten a dry hit, I turn it up sometimes (I don't go past 70w) when I want to get rowdy and again, no dry hits. The flavor on this clearo really impresses me and I wont say its leagues ahead of the Subtank Mini because its not HOWEVER due to the fact it can handle higher wattage without getting dry or burnt I will give the slight edge to the Delta II. Also you can buy an RBA head for it and it really gets rowdy with a .3 24 gauge ohm coil in there and the AFC wide open. I mean it chucks crazy clouds set up like that, bigger clouds then some of my "cloud chaseing" drippers with the same build. The airflow is nuts on the Delta II, I close it a bit more then half and it is still a really airy draw so that should tell you that wide open its nuts.

Subtank Mini: A great clearo as well, the flavor on this at low wattages amazes me. The fact that I can vape it at 25w with the .5ohm head in it and still chuck some clouds and get a really impressive flavorful vape really makes me happy. It hold a bit less then 4ml I think. The airflow is not even close to the Delta II but I still like it, I like it wide open and that for me is almost bang on my type of draw. It COMES with the RBA head HOWEVER I do not like this thing in RBA mode. I feel the design of it really chokes off the airflow and personally I would just prefer the OCC coils. The coils on this clearo are straight up organic cotton which like the Delta II is all I want to see now n days. If you prefer a lower wattage style of vape this is your guy IMO and I really like the fact that I use a lot less juice in this then the Delta II due to the lower wattages and so forth HOWEVER I dislike the fact that it cant handle the higher wattages but whatever its not a big deal.

The Lemo: What can I say? If your alright with building coils I would say get this and don't look back. I had mine sitting around not in use for a long time but just re built it last night and again this morning and it really is amazing. The flavor, the vape production, the capacity, the airflow, the looks and the price are all bang on for me. I love that I can have one with a .8 28 gauge at 40w and another at .3 with 24 gauge at 60w and never get a dry hit. It chucks come serious clouds with the .3 build I put in this morning (rayon) and the flavor is better then the above options IMO. Once I got this setup how I like it I feel in love all over again. It was like when I first touched a Kayfun (not in performance but just in the sense of "omg I need five others for all my devices and all my different favorite builds") Lastly the price on this bad boy is amazing. Grab two, some different gauges of wire, some cotton or rayon and your still looking at less then $100.

Conclusion: In my opinion I conclude that if you are fine with building coils and wicking them and so forth then you get the Lemo. If you like a lower wattage vape and don't want to build I say get the mini subtank and lastly if you like a bit higher wattage (40-50w IMO it shines best) and want to also have a good (IMO) build deck get a Delta II. I hope I helped and if you need anything else please PM me. I own 2 Lemos and my wife owns one. This morning I ordered her another so she could have one with a low ohm build and the other with a higher ohm build. I also got myself three more to bring my total number of Lemos to five. I only own 3 Delta IIs and 2 Subtank Minis. That should show you two things: one, I am insane and two, I like the Lemo the best.

I wrote all that to go back and read you got the Mini. Oh well, great decision and in future you can refer to my post if it may help you. I still enjoyed writing it lol.

Wow, even more great info! Also, much appreciated! The Delta II was on my short list and while the ability to go up to 50w was appealing I went with the Subtank Mini because I really liked the quality of my Kanger EVOD, and I like the design of the subtank better after watching a few videos. I figured it would be a great "next step" from my EVOD and it would give me the ability to eventually try RBA (looks a LOT easier than I assumed it would be). I figure if I can rebuild and restore multiple pinball machines, then this should be a walk in the park.

I'll try and make a post when I receive everything and use some of the information you and pufZeppelin posted so it's all in a nice and tidy post for others that were in the same situation as me. Thanks again to everyone on this thread for the help, this is a great community!

you're on the wrong track.

consider what that piano dude mentioned... just check out the sub forum and get to know the guys, ask questions, fraternize, etc.
then take it from there when you're ready.

i've been through your plight. i vape max VG almost exclusively. i bought a lot of stuff that didn't work. good luck.
