Need a little help

Been doing the DIY thing since shortly after starting vaping. I have made some great juices and I have made some stinkers. I am a food guy and have been cooking since I was 7. I love creating flavors and bought the flavor thesaurus to help me with flavor combos. Just wondering I have had a few flavors that even after steeping for a month still taste very much like nasty medicine . I understand that sometime flavors just don't mix well but it is that same medicine flavor with all of them and I was wondering if it is a certain flavor that will cause this because it is not meant to be mixed in other than a hint. I know this is a trial and error hobby, but if I can learn from others it might save me from having to rinse with mouth wash a few times. Thank you all for all the info already posted, I have learned so much from this forum and have vaping so enjoyable for me.

Without an inclusive list of all your mixes, flavoring brands, & percents used, it's a guessing game.

I mix at 50/50 PG/VG 6-12 mg nic, and 10-15% flavorings. Flavors that I have had this happen in are: chocolate, caramel, rice krispies, fruit loops, peanut butter cup, chocolate cupcake, and some of my melons. I get my flavors from: Flavor west, heartland vapes (TFA flavorings), Loranns, One on One flavors. I even get this taste from store bought juices at times.

Thanks Hoosier, I will try less flavoring. I do steep and those flavors are have been steeped for anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks and they are just aweful. I have tried 2 process's one is with the crock pot at 150 for 4 hours, then let it breathe overnight in a dark place with the cap off. If the taste still isn't there I let it steep for a week in insulated lunch bag in my closet. The second is no crock pot, let it breathe 24 hours and then steep in that bag for 2 -3 weeks testing once a week.

Chocolates are a pita to get right anyway, so forget about them for now.
Caramels I find kinda weak as stand alone, good for mixers tho.
Tried to make a PB Cup, chocolate fail.
Don't do melons, lol.

However Fruit Loops and Rice Krispies are supposed to be good at 10-15%.

Make a small batch of these 2 without any nicotine.
Quick heat steep.

I always start out in small batches and really low percentages no matter what is recommended because you have to find what makes your taste buds happy. It is also helpful for me to keep a index card on what I made because I honestly can't remember. Just adjust it til I think it is good. Mixing is all about having fun. It is just as addictive as nicotine IMO. Have fun and happy mixing.

But I love chocolate soooo much. I'll just keep trying. I did make a batch of cramy vanilla hazelnut and it is great.
