I made the decision to go back from mechs/kayfuns to a simpler set-up, an MVP2 and Itaste VV. I had fond memories of the EVOD so I ordered a five pack. It's not started off well. Way to many dry hits and after one tank one refuses to fire, even with a new head. So what's good out there now? Don't need anything fancy. Preferably cheap with cheap replacement heads. I rotate about five flavors and like a clearo for each one. Glass isn't needed but it's fine.

What did you decide? Is it to move away from the kayfuns or move away from the mechs?

If it's the mechs then you can just use your kayfun on the mvp2 or on a vamo etc.
You can use 30 gauge on the kayfun.

As for the evod, you can rewick with cotton to reduce the dry hits, although of course cotton can burn if it does get dry

Both. Going back to variable and clearo's. Just want simplicity, no rewicking or coils. Just want plug and play. I'm tired of spending the time and my wife is tired of me always messing with it. Just want something that works easily and reliably.

I've been eyeing the Nautilus mini but it ain't cheap. I'll give the aro a look as well.

But I did figure something out tonight. On the MVP2 I have all the listed problems in the OP. Stuck it on my wife's Winder and no issues at all. Something about the MVP and the EVOD doesn't jive. It works fine on an ego stye battery but the MVP kills it. I'll be further testing with the VV later. I didn't go with egos to start with because of the junky chargers, micro USB is so much simpler and more reliable.

Probably pick up a Nautilus Mini for the MVP and some twists/winders for the evods.

Smoke tech arotank 2 with ego c twist. Fill n Vape. I have 5 flavors in my daily rotation. Batteries are vision spinners 2 (1600 mah) and ego c twist (1300 mah) Tanks are the mini pro tank and 2 pro tank 3. Kanger aerotank. Smoketech aro2. Every 2 weeks I will spend an hour and make my own coils. If I run out I use the factory coils.

On the mvp the evod probably isn't screwing down far enough; I mean like its hitting the base on the surface of the mvp before the center pins make contact; you can check this by putting on a 510 to 510/eGo adapter and screw the evod onto the adapter.

Man, I gotta think that that is going to be a real vape quality step down. I get it, though - set it and forget it.

Either the nautilus mini or the kanger aerotank mini would prolly be the way to go. Either would work just fine with the MVP (back in the day, I had issues with evods on them, too).

Now, I just have to float this out there, too - maybe consider a reo. Ignore all the fanboy hoopla. You know how to rebuild and are comfortable with mechs, but the reo (while being those things) has virtually none of the hassles of typical mech/RBA setups. You have to build and wick, yes, but you get up to 3 months on a single build if wicked with READYxWICK (no rewicking), stores 6 ml of juice, and gets you dripper quality vaping. It's got no more hassles than a clearo/VW setup (in fact, avoids all the gurgling, surprise dry hitting, and leaking) and requires less maintenance. No harm, no foul if you punt the idea and I'm not telling you that what you want to do is a mistake - I'm just suggesting that there is a third alternative.

Put an Aspire Nautilus mini on the MVP and you're done.

Replace the BVC coils every 1-3 weeks as needed.

Problem solved. Wife happy. Life is good again.

Right here is your answer. Will add to use *only* Aspire BVC coils. If you want bigger go to either the regular Nautilus, or, if you want even more airiness, get the Beyond Vapes Silo tank (uses the same coils) and is very close to a Nautilus in how it vapes - just adds another larger air-hole choice.

The past year+ I've tried 1,728 tanks, and I'd say after a couple of months the Nautilus BVC mini has been the most reliable tank I've owned. Not as good as an RDA with a good wick and build (is anything?), but for a regular tank with replaceable coils it's solid. As with vaping, now that I said that out loud I just jinxed myself and the Nautilus will become a failure and a living nightmare.

Where did you get this deal? I'm ordering two Mini's tonight and a couple packs of heads. These EVODs are just horrible. I guess they were good when I didn't know any better but after cartotanks and then Kayfuns their is just no flavor comparatively speaking. Plus not working on the MVP2 is a serious downside.

Well I've had the Nautilus's for a day and a half I am in love with them. Pretty much the same taste as the Kayfun without the work. I ordered a second mini in a kit with their own ego battery to replace the Itaste VV I lost in a foot pursuit Wednesday night. Also splurged and bought an Eleaf iStick to have three flavors going on and hopefully keep from killing any more flavors. (vaped thug juice for about a year and now I cannot stand it. Tastes like ash is the best I can describe, even after two months of not touching it I still cannot taste it.)
