I have these three mods, love them all, but they all have different "personalities".

The eVic is in "shorty mode", and although the form factor is nicer (for me), run time isn't soo good. You CAN swap out batteries, but you'll probably want a regular 18X50 charger in addition to the onboard charging capabilities.....

The entire eVic kit will come with a battery and charging cord.

Any of the three would come with high recommendations from me.

edited to add -> The eVic is a featherweight compared to the weight of the VTR... Keep that in mind....

Alright guys im looking for a new mod, i was thinking something along the lines of a VTR, eVic, Vamo v5, or maybe a lavatube . i would like interchangeable batteries and a circular mod that isn't HUGE. i like the provari mini but doesn't fit in my $150 spending limit. I could live with a box mod like the VTR but would rather have a circular mod. So basically what im asking is what is the best mod i can get for about $150 dollars that comes in a kit with the rechargable batteries and charger. I would in the future like to upgrade to a nautilus 2 tank. So what would you guys recommend? I want something that i can still somewhat carry around. Is it just worth getting the provari?
If that $150 is burning a whole in your pocket check out the ProVaris. You'll still need a couple IMR batteries and a suitable charger that will run you another $40 - $50 depending on what and where you buy them. I make fun of the ProVari fans sometimes, but it's just that, all in fun. Truth is it's a solid device backed up by a 1 year warranty and will in all likelihood last you for years if not abused.

<3 <3 <3 my VTR.

Lots o' power. Consistent vape. 5 amp limit enables sub-ohming, although I don't think that's really an issue with a regulated device. As far as I know, wattage is wattage, and VTR is up there at 15 watts, as I'm sure you've discovered.

I build low resistance coils for my Protank 2, ~1.3 ohms using 10 turns of 28 guage kanthal, cotton for wicking. I like low-ohms because they seem to be warmer, heat quickly, and produce good flavor. VTR can fire a .6 ohm coil, but I wouldn't try it in my Protank. A .9 ohm coil burned out the cotton in just a few hours.

It looks great, it performs very well, and is tough as nails. It's built out of solid chunks of metal, so expect some weight. It's a bit under a pound fully-loaded, but doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I actually like it, feels sturdy (because it is). Not to mention, if a battery pops in this thing, I doubt it would grenade. It's fully vented, and so solid, that the battery door would blow out before the device pops.

No! Don't try fastech if you want it soon!

Slowest shipping ever! Always at least 2 weeks in my experience. Mostly longer!

Yup, three weeks average to Canada for the couple of times I've used them. Sorry I don't know of a good price on them elsewhere, but I'm sure someone will.

The VTR may have a 5 Amp switch, but it still will not power anything above 15 Watts.

If it does fire a .6Ω coil, it will only do so at 3 Volts. That's 15 Watts. The small size of a .6Ω coil running at 3 Volts is a weak ... vape. Anybody using a mechanical would never be vaping their battery down to 3 Volts, because that is essentially a "dead" battery concerning vapor production.

On any of these VV/VW mods that aren't designed for high wattage vaping (like the DNA30, Gi2, TBA, Duke etc) there is little point in going below the 1.2Ω neighborhood. Your beginning to cross the line concerning the benifits of low resistance coils. Without the high wattage, they are inferior to higher resistance builds.

Your also not getting any adjustability with pushing the lower resistance area of your VTR. With a .6Ω coil (if it even does fire that) you could crank the voltage up to 6 Volts, your still only getting 3 Volts and the 15 Watt limit. If you adjust the Wattage down from 15 Watts, your still getting 15 Watts because it's minimum is 3 Volts.

Of course. I didn't mean to insinuate that it would.

15 watts is 15 watts. It doesn't matter if if you get there with 3 volts or 6. All you're doing, as you said, is narrowing your adjustability. I think about 2.5 ohms would be the sweet spot if you wanted to utilize the full range of power.

The point was just made that it can, and if you want to play with low resistance, for whatever reason, you can with the VTR.

As I said, I'm running my coils at 1.3 right now, and at 13-15 watts, I love it. I'm not sure there's any difference in 15 watts at 1.3 than there would be at .6, besides how quickly the coil heats maybe. I enjoyed vaping at .9, but I needed to wind an 8-wrap coil to get it with 28 gauge, and the coil was so small that it was just burning out the cotton in the center.

Maybe I'll play around that low once I get a nice RDA.

If you think there is any chance you want a Provari, I say you buy that now. There is a chance taxes on the unit could double the price if the state they are produced in gets their way. I think it's a pretty safe buy as there is a huge following, could always try it out and easily sell it if you don't like it. I may pick one up myself for the vary same reason.
