See, what non-Reonauts don't uderstand is that when you buy a Reo, not only are you getting a amazing mod you are also getting amazing customer serivice but also equally amazing community support.

This is not my first time seeing Reonauts helping out other Reonauts, shoot, or even soon to be Reonauts. It makes me smile everytime!

There is no Ville' like Reoville!

YEP! truly outstanding fellowship!

so.. Im still learning and struggling a bit here with squonking, wicking, dry hits..

I did 5 wraps on 5/64 with 28g Kanthal for a .8 ohm, on the RM2. Is this too much wick? or too little? Because I'm getting a dry / burnt cotton hit by the 3rd hit.. sometimes the 2nd even. should I just squonk for each pull.. to make sure its always wet?

should I build a different coil? increase or decrease ohms? more cotton, less? Thanks for your help all!

When you use cotton as a wick, you must remember that it expands when wet. Looking at your wick, it looks to have 'shoulders' on it either side of the coil and that will strangle its ability to wick effectively.

My rule of thumb for cotton wicks is pull off what you think you will need and halve it. It will wick a lot faster and evenly.

see my pic, ancient puffer? when I sumerge that.. I was only get like 2-3..

although, I will now add.. that part of my problem may have been drawing too long and too aggressively.. guess I don't need to draw as long and as hard, as I did as a teen using the alternative smoking devices *wink*

Thanks for the useful info, SuperTrunker.. that may be it too..

Like SuperTrunker said, if the wick is "choked", it won't feed properly, and even though you have those long sopping wet tails, the middle will dry out quickly, and you'll get dry hits. I know it seems counterintuitive, but smaller wick will give you more hits per squonk.

And I'm in the same boat, I'm a mouth to lung kinda guy, but I "stack" 2-4 huge draws at a time, so if I get 3 hits per squonk, I'm doing good, more often, it's barely 2.

You could also try lowering your coil, i run mine almost on the deck of a RM2 and the ceramic base means you can in fact press it all the way onto it, to guarantee submersion when you squonk.

This gives less throat but a warmer and more flavour-filled vape. I like to fit a coil and mash it down with my finger! But then i am not famed for my finesse.

Another thought is to open up the airholes a little on the RM2; stock they are 3/64", but a lot of people here drill them to 1/16" or more. Bear in mind the cap is chrome plated brass and so it's easy to drill and equally easy to overdo it and end up with something too airy.

good stuff... did both.. opened air hole a bit.. lowered the coil.. and wrapped a new, bigger coil, less wick.. working better! helps to keep the bottle more filled too, obviously, squonking a 2/3'rds empty bottle is more tricky. thanks for all the support guys and gals..

LOL olefolks..

Ya REO, love your stuff man! I just bought a RM2 atty from Nick @ Vape N Joe's here in largo, FL to go with it.. like the bf action better on your atty's. the modded atomic bf is slower and harder to see the squonk!

and a HUGE THANK YOU to JayTater for so rescuing me! Made the trip to his place, we got to talk, and he GAVE me two springs!! I ordered 4 from Rob, just the same, JayTater is da man! Thank you again JayTater! and Reonaut community in general! talk about spring to action! Thanks all!

I'm sorry that I missed your post; I would have let you use my spare! I have spoken to Nick (I'm the reason he started carrying REOs :) ) about carrying spare parts including o-rings, springs, etc. at the shop.

Also, if your nic level is too high VNJ has always let me bring back juice to 'water it down' if the nic level was too high.
