Hi!

I've recently had a load of hassle with my e-roll's ego-c atomizers that have become coated with black gunk on the coil after just a couple of days, and turned the liquid in the tank into dark brown, thicker nasty looking eliquid!

This was a cola flavour bought from simplyeliquid... which do 30ml for ridiculously cheap, so admittedly i should have suspected something may be amiss

I've recently learnt that the cause of my atty problems seems to be because of the eliquid, and suspect this is in part due to the way they make their e-liquid, which is quite thick.

Can anyone recommed a UK eliquid brand/supplier that does e-liquid that is "kinder" to atomizers, Given the revalations, im happy to pay more for it, but just want a high quality eliquid that isnt going to wreck my attys and cause havoc with the taste of the flavour that im inhaling.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

All atomizers will get "gunked up" eventually as they do have a shelf life, you mention the thickness of the liquid, is it mainly vg ? also on some liquids the colour will normally get darker as the liquid heats up and the coils become clogged.

Wash the atomiser when things get funky or replace/rebuild it. As for vendors :-

Decadent Vapours, Alchemists Cupboard and Vape Escape for Grizwalds Gourmet Liquids for starters, you can also get into DIY when you gain more experience.

Hi. :)

Firstly, all atomizers get gunked up, but as you have the infamous joyetech atomizer and "tank" system, you are going to suffer more than us. There are reports of these getting bad in a day or two, which at £4 a pop is grim.

Anyhow....

Certain liquids will gunk up an atty very fast indeed. For example, the dark and flavour-rich liquids are going to do this, as are a good few of the tobacco types. Vanilla custards and stuff will just gunk up as quick as anything.

Clearer/cleaner liquids can be almost gunk free. A good menthol or light fruit juice can go on for weeks. I've used citrus and menthols in clearomisers and almost had no build up.

If you were to compare the build up using a liquid like Alchemists cupboard lemon and meringue pie or Vanilla custard to say Grizwalds Apple and Pear torte or Citrus Spring, there will be no comparison. I love all these flavours, but some are atomiser killers, which is why so many of us end up using rebuildable clearomisers....a luxury you don't have with the eroll and the less than ideal (and expensive) joyetech system.

Can't see any ingredients on the bottle or on the on the site at all, so am not sure whether it has VG, nor what VG is for that matter! Is this something that is linked with gunking up?

House of Liquid makes some of the highest praised e-liquid on the market. I know, because I order it all the way from over here, in spite of all the US options in between me and UK. :)

Thanks for the recommendation, looking at their website it looks quite premium and they offer some nice flavours! Will put in an order from them! Thanks :)

Mmm, I'm aware there is an element of flavour in this, i think I'll stick to the fruitier eliquids from now on, as the more suggary ones are clearly playing a role in this! Never understood what a clearomiser is, but it's something I'd like to look into, as im planning on buying a more hefty new e-cig that can give a stronger and more durable vape than the e-cig, so I'll look into these!

Simplified answer:-
VG is Vegetable Glycerine it helps to make the vapour - PG is Propolyne Glycol it helps with throat hit. Either one or the other, or both added with nicotine liquid and the flavouring are the 4 things that make up e-liquid. The nicotine base needs to be diluted with VG or PG, or both in differing percentages. Some people also use distilled water or vodka, i never have so someone else may help there.

There are many threads on ECF dealing with this subject in more detail, i hope this gives you a rough idea of what constitutes e-liquid.

Just to say - if you order the tobaccos from House of liquid, they are certainly of the type more likely to gunk up your atomiser.

I stay away from tobacco flavour! Always used to smoke menthols because i hated the taste, and one of the main joys of vaping is that i can choose to have absolutely NO taste of tobacco :)

Aah, ok thanks for the clarification, will have a little dig on the forums to see what i can find out. seems whilst the gunkier cola stuff lists no ingredients, the one that currently isn't gunking mine up states 70% PG, and then VG, flavorings, and nicotine. So perhaps I'll try and stick to higher ratio'd PG ingredients in my searches :)
