Need advice- aspire nautilus leaking

Hi! First off I would like to ask you all to be patient with me I'm new to this whole forum thing.
I have been vaping since June or so and have used the "Ego" type ecig with the disposable tanks. I was kinda board with them and felt like I was wanting more vapor ect. So I went to my local vape store where I get liquids and the lady I deal with suggested a few and I did some research and bought the eleaf istick 30w. At that point I was (and still am) totally clueless as of the proper tanks. She sold me the aspire nautilus and she had it all set up and loved it. An hour later it started leaking out of the holes. I went back and she told me it was because the coil was loose and we cleaned it all up and on my way I went. 1 1/2 days later same thing. I love the battery but the tank won't stop leaking! I clean it and then it leaks. I tried to change the coil and also was very careful about the over tightening and all that. I'm So frustrated on what to do that I am back to using my ego. Someone please help! lol sorry for such a long post.

The istick 30W and aspire nautilus tank should be a great combo. I have 2 nautilus minis and love them dearly. Make sure when you take apart the nautilus to clean it that after cleaning you screw the coil fairly tightly in the base of the tank where the adjustable airflow is. I've found that once in awhile when I take mine apart the coil will unscrew from the base and stay attached the chimney inside the tank. This is common but doesn't happen all the time. The only time I've seen my nautilus tanks leak was when I was outside in very cold weather and then came inside where it was warm. Seems the vacuum in the tank will sometimes make the juice expand with drastic temperature changes. Once you get this figured out you'll love the istick and nautilus combo. Good luck

Authentic aspire nautilus & replacement heads verified by checking the scratch off security code via their site?

The only ways they can leak through the air holes is head not tight into the base or a missing oring on the head or by flooding the head.

Remove head & dry air chamber in base, make sure there is a clearish white oring on the bottom of the head, tighten head into base firmly, dry center / air tube, fill tank, assemble base to tank do not over tighten tank to base.

Too strong of an inhale too small airflow setting pull more juice into the head than can be vaporized, causing flooding, sometimes using too low power causes incomplete vaporization which will cause flooding over time. The excess liquid in the head drains out through the bottom into the air chamber in the base, where the airflow holes are.

Hello Hmarie and welcome to the forum. The setup you have is a really nice one. I have the Nautilus Mini's and love them. UncleMike gave you the best advice about tightening the coil into the bottom of the tank. If it continues to leak try taking it back to the vendor again (I have no other idea of what it could be).

When your coils start to draw slow, swap them out. Put the slow one in a shot of vodka and let it sit most of the day. (jiggle the cup a few times, the vodka will get dirty.)
Remove the coil from the vodka, blow dry it and then let it sit on a paper towel overnight so any vodka can evaporate. It should perform close to new.

Hi hmarie, despite loads of recommendations I've had the same problems with a genuine mini nautilus. I followed all the advice and I gave up in the end when I googled and found loads of info from people who kept having the same problem. It's obviously not the device which has loads of fans, but my research suggested it might be down to a combo of vaping style and temperature..

I got some Kanger t3s and they work brilliantly with my istick. I've actually NEVER had them leak! And they're cheap too. Might work for you if your own research shows it could be your vaping style

The only thing that I have noticed with mine is if the vacuum suction is to strong, you may be pulling more juice than is atomized. What wattage do you run it at? I have found around 10 watts is a good place for me anyway. What air hole do you have it set too? Having it set to a smaller hole with the way you take a draw can have an effect on the vacuum created. Draw to hard, pulls in extra fluid. Draw to softly, won't wick fast enough.

I'm sold on the Nautilus Mini with my 50W iStick. I also use a few Aspire ET-S ($6) which hold about 3 ml and come with either BVC(bottom verticle colis) or BDC (bottom dual coils)

I had the same problem with the full size Nauts. Took me a while and some oily (but great smelling) messes in my purse before I realized the problem.
The chimney the coil screws into was bent on both of mine. It's very likely I threaded them wrong since I was so new to vaping.
I ordered the replacement tank for them that looks like a diamond patterned metal over the glass and have had no problems since.
I get the same performance as my mini's, no more gurgling, no flooding and I can go all day at work without switching out tanks.

I'm learning so much from you all thanks agian. Some of the things you all are saying I have no clue what it means lol I feel very clueless.... I have no clue about Bvc or dual coils or what the difference is... And lots of other things. I'm guessing I'm feeling pretty similar to my 75 old mother in law trying to use a smart phone lol.... Is there a beginner for dummies book haha

BVC vs BDC colis. In Aspire products, the BVC coil is an improvement (subjective) to the BDC (everyone makes a BDC). If you buy the Aspire products you can use either coils "made for that product". Other manufacturers (Kanger, or Smok for example), make a very similar type tank. The picture I posted above is a nice tank "eGo threaded" that works well on the 30W. (you will need a 510 to eGo adapter - $5 online). If you are running in and out of the weather, you may have better luck with no leakage with this type tank. I am relatively new to vape so I am certain someone with more experience can advise you further.

Hi and Welcome to ECF

I have had a 5 milileter full size Nautilus for about a year now and love it.

These vaping devices are Tempermental and do not like extreme temperature changes or sitting too long without puffing on them.

My nautilus leaks and gurgles after sitting all nite on my coffee table.

I will roll up a napkin or paper towel and remove the mouth piece and screw the paper into a tiny point and screw it down into the shaft and then pul it back

out and this dries out the shaft part.

I unscrew the coil and stick paper towel down into the bottom air hole part and this will dry out that part.

I then turn my ecig upside down and puff on it until I get a dry burnt taste and this dries out the coil because as it is making vapor the coil cannot get

any more juice because it is upside down.

After this I just start puffing again after coil get wet.

The nautilus will operate well all day after doing these things.

Leaking and gurgling are common problems with all these vaping devises.

If you draw hard with the air hole too small trying to get satisfaction sometimes too much juice will be drawn into the coil.

The coil will become flooded with ejuice and needs to be dryed out.

Blowing down the mouth piece some times clears condensation and juice from the inside.

Sometimes if the juice is not strong enough flavor I will puff extra hard trying to get some satisifaction and get 2 much juice in the shaft and it

will gurgle.

Also if my juice level in the tank gets too low close to empty the tank will gurgle--I try 2 keep it at one half full or higher--something about the

internal vacuum pressure--a lot like soft drink slowing taking some time to come out of a 2 liter bottle when it is full but rushes out faster when

there is a lot of air in the bottle.

Hope this helps you out,

Good Luck

Lots of good advice in this thread. I have a couple of Nautilus Minis that I've been using daily for a few months, and I can tell you some occasional gurgling is going to happen. It should be kept in mind that between the drip tip and the tank, there is a, sort of, juice catch that does a good job of preventing condensed juice from rushing out of the drip tip and into your mouth.

I would advise against blowing into the drip tip because whatever condensed juice is above the coil and between the drip tip and tank can be blasted into the air flow chamber blow the coil, and then it will leak out of the spring connection and the air holes. Rather, remove the drip tip and use a paper towel, napkin, or Q-tip to absorb the juice in the drip tip. Also do this at the top of the tank in the hole that receives the drip tip. Don't fire the tank completely upside down--once I did this, I got quite a lot of juice in my mouth. Rather, put the tank at an angle above the horizontal and then gently draw while firing the tank.

And, when juice does get into the air flow chamber, I just give the base a rinse of water, dry it, blow out the air holes, reassemble and then I'm back in business.
