Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and new to vaping in general. I have been using the original Blu cig for the last few weeks. I do like the size of the battery, however the life of the battery is lacking. I also frequently get a burnt taste from my cartos. I have been refilling the Blu cartos as well as buying some blanks online to refill.

While I don't want to bash the blu, because It has helped me to not smoke a real cigarette in two weeks, I think it is time for an upgrade. Again, I do like the size of the battery but understand I will have to go bigger to receive more power. I have also been reading about clearomizers and smokizers giving a better taste and not burning like the cartos do when they get dry. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Oh were to begin. First read everything you can from this forum, the choices are wide and variable. I have not used cartos for a very long time, mostly for the reason you stated. My carts were sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes just worthless, plus my cost was spiraling out of control. The answer, I discovered, was rebuildable atomizer Genesis style. There was a time I wouldn't have recommended this to someone as new to vaping as yourself, however recent cost reductions in this style atomizer suggest you jump the learning curve and go for a vape that will knock your socks off. No more burning cartos, no more buying anything except juice once you've made your purchases for atty, battery holder, batteries, kanthal wire, and ss mesh. I know I've probably got you scratching your head, but go on you tube and start watching vids on these atomizers. Yes, you do have to tinker a bit, but the vape is rich and thick, and the rebuildable aspect lets you perfect things. Good luck and if you decide genesis, i will be glad to offer any advice you need.

Welcome to efc and glad to hear of another convert, never feel bad about where you started if it got you to continue forward.
the best starter batteries right now are called ego twists or vision spinners. about the thickness of a sharpie marker and last a good long while.

clearomizer is a small tank with a wick that feeds liquid to a coil. they are decent, hold a few ml of juice, cheap and (mostly reliable)

the two best right now are the kanger t2 or 3
Spotlight: Kanger T2 eGo Clear : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

and the vision vivi nova
GotVapes Vision Mini Vivi Nova™ : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

the best part of these is they are rebuildable, the part of the tank that vapes the juice can be replaced cheaply when it wears out for just a couple bucks.....

Here's what I suggest you get:

- L-Rider Robust VV PV
- 2-3 14500 batteries and a charger
- Pyrex tank from IBTanked
- 10 cartos, 2-3 ohm preferably, because you'll have VV
- Carto punch tool
- Syringe for filling and draining tank

All together this will run over $100 but it will be a sweet setup that will be pretty easy to use. The cartos will not run dry so much when they have the tank filling them. If you want to save some cash get an eGo Twist instead of the Robust. That way you don't have to buy separate batteries and the eGo charger is cheaper.

With so many options - and so many folks with different preferences - it is very difficult to say. I went from prosmoke to KGO 1100mah about 6 months ago - still using it and love it. I have since then purchased a Young June VV and a pass through. Here is the KGO - although this is the version 2 and supposedly better:

https://www.hoosierecig.com/V2-KGO-Kit-1100mAh_p_367.html

I started with 1.7 ohm cartomizers from the same vendor - went onto CE4 clearomizers and then to CE2 clearos.....today went back to my carto - best hit - but has its own issues - I cant clean em.

Buy something and as long as it is a manual battery - I think you will like it better than the Blu. You will find most of your money will be spent on finding juices you like....
