I've been trying for two weeks to figure out how to buy a Vamo. I'm thoroughly confused. Has anyone purchased one?

My first problem is nearly everyone is sold out of them. I can only find them available as the tube only. Now, this is where I get confused. Some people say only flat top batteries work, others say only button top batteries work. Some vendors claim it's a certain battery model you need then another vendor will come in and say something different. Other people say only certain tanks work. I really don't understand, there seems to either be a lot of misinformation out there or a complete lack of standards on battery models and threading.

I've always used 801 threading and am trying to enter the ego 510 world but it's incredibly overwhelming and these vendors don't seem to help either (I really don't want to buy a bunch of adapters). They post no useful information on their website that tells me what works with what.

Does anyone know of a kit I can buy that just gives me what I need?

Yeah, I'm a bit frustrated and could use some help.

No kit is going to fulfill the complete requirements. The vamo comes either as it is, or with battery/ies and charger.

It has 510/ego threading. You can buy 510/ego to 801 adapters that will let you use your 801 items.

The Vamo is $26.99 (For Registered members -Chrome/Black Chrome [looks like they are out of Stainless Steel]) at VV650 VAMO V2 (body only) eGo APV - VaporBreak
$33.49 with 2 18350 batteries and charger. Use 1 battery for short mode, or use both for full mode (No suggested for 18350 batteries by most battery experts here...) Or get 18650 batteries for full mode all the time.

Use what ever 510 or ego carto/clearomizer/tank you want. some of the clearomizers have fit issues, but again, a 510 to ego thread adapter will fix that. EGO/510 adapter - VaporBreak

They don't appear to sell 801 items.. so.. I'll turn you on to My Freedom Smokes Adapter Male 510 to Male 801 - MyFreedomSmokes.com is the adapter for your 801 stuff to fit on Ego type threading.

Any of this help?

Ok, can't help you with where to find one as in on mobile but a couple of answers for you.

First, use whatever batteries you want as long as they're unpredicted either 18350 or 18650.

Every tank, carto, clearo I know of works. You just need to buy a 510/ego adapter for kanger t3s. They're very cheap.

Most people including myself are going to tell you to steer clear of a kit because besides the tube the other stuff is garbage.

Check rtd vapors for batteries and chargers they're great.

You'll be really happy with the setup I feel, it's a great little device and cheap. I saw in the coop interest thread someone found the tube only going for like 30 bucks so not bad at all.

Boom: http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/sk48.htm Vamo 2 Only

Sorry they're sold out of the kit. They do have batteries in stock at a great price : http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/b2.htm

You want to avoid adapters if possible. They MAY lead to a short in the device. So your best bet is some sort of carto, clero, tank, whatever you like at least 2.0-3.0 Ohm. With 2.0 Ohm you may not be able to crank up volts, Ohm law and it will taste pretty nasty anyways if you do. For Novas the 2.8 heads should work well. You may or may not(if you already have one) need a charger. I use a trustfire charger. The 18650s need a good 5-8 hours to charge at times. Best to charge your batteries no lower than being read at 3.4 volts left. They are 100% charged when charger turns green or at 4.2 volts. I found on my trustfire they will take quite a long time sometimes, but it will turn green. At least it should, you do want to be careful not to overcharge unprotected cells. I think Vapor Beast does a good job at explaining some of the specs you seem confused about though.

Hi jwark,
I have two Vamos myself. You are better off buying the tube (Vamo by itself) and getting the batteries and charger separately. Some of the kits do not have good batteries or chargers with them, and you end up having to buy them again anyway.

For a Vamo you want IMR batteries, not protected. IMRs have safer chemistry and are designed to handle high drain.
An IMR 18650 is the long size, and an IMR 18350 the short size. The lifespan will depend on the number of charge cycles, which is about 500 charges. Generally you would replace them after a year.

A lot of people get the batteries and chargers from RTD Vapor. Here's what you would need:

Charger:
Battery Chargers : Xtar WP2 II

Any of these batteries - two of whichever brand:
18605s
AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
or
Batteries : Efest IMR 18650 Button Top
or
Batteries : Panasonic Hybrid/ IMR CGR18650CH Button Top

And for the smaller size, either of these:

18350s:
Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh
or
Batteries : Efest IMR 18350 Button Top

Wow thanks for that link. Smoktech.com actually has everything in stock. Kylynnn, you didn't need any adapter for that? You're vivi nova uses ego 510 threads?

You won't need an adapter for 510/Ego threading. You can use Ego cones and stardust type clearmizers with it. The T3s won't fit because they are too wide. I'm not sure about attachments that are Ego threaded only (don't have 510 as well). Most attachments are 510 or 510/Ego and will be fine.
