Need advice on where to get all the goodies needed to get started with DIY

Hello ECF friends,

I've been doing my homework on DIY and think I have a pretty good handle on what I need to get started (and more importantly, what safety precautions I need to take) , but I'm not sure where I should go online to get all of the supplies and such. Quality is more important to me than price, but I want to make sure I get a good deal on what I end up with as well.

Along these lines, I don't have a really big budget to start off, so I'm looking for some advice on what flavors and vendors would be recommended for a newbie.

I've determined there's not really a need to go with any of the starter kits out there, as I'm finding I'd be buying things I really don't need if I go that route.

Long story short, could you help point me in the right direction of what's needed out of the gate and where I should look for it?

I recently just started with DIY. I got my supplies at ecigexpress. The syringes I got on Ebay.

Basically to get started you need..
PG/VG
Nicotine
flavor
syringes (5 ML and 1 ML)
gloves/eye protection
Tons of paper towels
empty bottles
online calculator (I use e-Liquid Calculator :: New recipe)

DWright - That's about what my list looks like, so it looks like I'm on the right track. I appreciate the quick response.

Any suggestions on brands/flavors to get started? I know to start small, but there are so many choices out there it's a bit overwhelming. I know it's a bit subjective since everyone's palate is different, but I figure I'll start slow with single flavorings until I start to get the hang of things. I like just about everything except for menthol and buttery stuff.

For mixing supplies such as syringes, bottles, cylinders etc.... I like myfreedomsmokes. They seem to have everything you need in one place. A one-stop-shop so to speak. For bargens you need to shop around but everything in one place that's the place to go.

As far as flavorings to start out with I recommend hangsen or inawera which can be gotten at bullcityvapors.

Already loading up my cart at Bull City, and thanks for the heads up. Are they a good source for pg/vg and nicotine? I see good reviews, but wanted to get your take. Quality is paramount for stuff I'm going to be inhaling on a regular basis.

I read both of those blogs yesterday, and they're quite informative. I will probably print them out, honestly.

I haven't tried there PG/VG/NIC but people do rave about it. I do know from first hand experience that there flavors are good.

Well, I think I'm pretty much all set for now. I made purchases at Bull City and My Freedom Smokes, and all that's left is picking up some safety gear at the local hardware store. Thanks for all of the help today. I really appreciate it.

I didn't know about the fb codes. I don't use it, but my lady does and I'll make sure she keeps me up to speed with any deals going on for the next round. Thanks for the tip! I'm getting pretty excited about getting started. It kills me paying what I have been on premade juices thus far. Cheaper than smoking for sure, but I like doing things myself if I can make something just as good (or better) for less. Case in point, I make my own coils and wicks these days and I've saved a ton, not to mention the fact I get more taste and vapor production as a result.

I get all my base liquids from RTS, all my flavors from Killer Juice, bottles from Fasttech and syringes from Amazon.

There are dozens of places to get all of this stuff. Shop around until you find your favorites.
