I'm needing some advice regarding an issue I have been having for some time. I use a Kanger Ego Battery 900 mAH with a Kanger Evod tank and have tried both 2.2 Ohm and 2.5 Ohm Kanger Replacement Coils but continue to experience issues. I go through tons of replacement coils. I was thinking that the coils should last anywhere from 10 to 14 days but the longest usage I get is about 4 days, sometimes they don't even make it through one day. I experience low volume of vapor and sometimes flooding. I cannot get an ongoing decent volume of vape. I use 80/20 VG/PG juice, have switched from a heavier dark tobacco blend to a lighter juice with different flavoring. I'm going mad trying to figure this out. I've tried to clean the coils by boiling and by soaking in alcohol but they still don't work as well as new. I am a heavy vapor. I try to read the forums on here and but often it is over my head and too technical. I'd appreciate anyone who could advise me on this hopefully in terms I can understand lol!
Thank you!

Hate to say it, but many of us are finding QC issues with Kanger heads lately. My EVOD/Protank heads were great last year, but I got into T3s and such this year, and the heads have been worthless.
You'll end up rebuilding them yourself.
Also, are you sure you're 80/20 VG/PG, and not 80/20 PG/VG? 80% PG is a thin liquid, more prone to flooding, especially on a crap head. 50/50 is better all-around blend for various clearos.

It could be a number of things. There are a lot of high VG juices out there that just don't work good in certain cartos. Was there ever a juice that you used that you can remember that you didn't have any issues?

Also, I am sure you have checked and made sure, but are your wicks that you reuse dried out for at least a day or 2? The next step will cost you around 10 bucks give or take, but have you tried a completely different tank? Maybe the clearomizer T3D? You could even order yourself a protank 2, 3 or even an aerotank to use on your battery. Some of these actually come with a beauty ring to use as well.

I typically vape my Mech MOD all day, but I still grab my EGo C Upgrade from time to time because my wife likes those if she's not hogging my VAMO. But in the Ego I use a T3S or the T3D. Less issues with the T3D. But I remember I did have an issue when using Villian Vapors Dillinger in them. I would barely get vapor and even a burnt taste.

I hope this helps a little bit and keep posting what you have tried. We will eventually figure it out or someone will read this and know right off the bat.

The more info and details you give, the faster we solve.

I used to not have such a problem with these coils in the past but the last several orders nothing but problems. Yes, the wicks I tried to reuse were dried out so it's good to know that can affect things, wasn't aware of that. I'm going to check into the tank you mentioned, thanks very much!

If you feel your juice is too thick... just add a drop or two of distilled water and it will thin it out.

As far as Kanger coils... in the last several months they've had quality issues. I've overcome all that by rebuilding my own coils. It's easy once you get the hang of it. Search youtube several good instructional videos out there.

Even is you if you don't want to rebuild... a simple fix for most of the flooding/gurgling and wicking issues. Pop the stem cap off the coil. Remove the flavor wicks gently. Dry burn the coil by pulsing it on a battery 3-5 second bursts until the coils glow cleanly.

Take a cotton ball pull off a small piece about a quarter inch wide by 3/8 inch long... roll it between your fingers until it's small enough to sit in the slots on top of the coil... replace the stem cap. Trim the excess cotton with finger nail clippers. Then reload and reassemble. Give it a couple of minutes to absorb the juice.

You might have a slight cotton taste for about 3-5 hits... then you'll be good to go.

Thank you!

The single most dramatic improvement I ever made came from rewicking with cotton; delayed doing it for a long time because I figure I'd have a hard time with my old eyes but nope, turned out to be easy:

I am on a T3 coil rebuilding mission tonight. I have:

1) A spool of 28g kanthal
2) 5/64 drill bit
3) Mesh, Japanese cotton, cotton yarn, and silica wick
4) Multimeter

I've rebuilt these coils before, but shoddy ones at best. Can someone tell me if what I have is what I need and also what wicking material is best? I know I read all the time here that the organic japanese cotton is great, but it seems like it will be difficult to thread through this coil. Any tips, suggestions, hints would be greatly appreciated.
