Hi all! I am fairly new to the forums, and new to the E-smoking thing. Recently purchased and received the DSE901 mini from PureSmoker well i had to send it back..it wasn't at all what i was expecting. So..i order a Janty Dura-C..it shipped just about a week ago. I am still unsure about this one too, its the newest model. Well, the carts are very very leaky! I purchased another atomizer with it and it is pooped out! I have lots of liquid and would love to use it but i have no empty carts. I don't want to drop the liquid directly on my only working atomizer, i'm afraid it will go out too, then i'm stuck without any e-cig. To top it all off a package from Janty is lost. My personal portable charger didn't come with the Dura-C's so im stuck tracking it down with the Post Office. I have not had much luck starting out and do not want to venture back to cigarette's ever again (plus each pack has went up to $4.55 where i live, more than $1.00 more than they were). I just don't want to spend extra money trying out all the e-cigs until i find the best one and buy regular cigs until i get this all straightened out. Too much money lost!

Any help/advice would greatly help! Thanks for letting me vent :)

Email Jeff....he'll get another one out to you.

I have lots of liquid and would love to use it but i have no empty carts.

Where's all the carts that came with it? You can top off the ones you have...or take out the filler, rinse it with hot water, squeeze it and let it dry, then refill it with some liquid (until you get more carts).

I don't want to drop the liquid directly on my only working atomizer, i'm afraid it will go out too, then i'm stuck without any e-cig.

You can drip on the atomizer....just don't overdo it. Try one drop at a time to see how it goes. That should not ruin the atomizer. Dura-C's are made for dripping.....that's why they have the covered battery hole.

To top it all off a package from Janty is lost. My personal portable charger didn't come with the Dura-C's so im stuck tracking it down with the Post Office.

The PCC does not work with the Dura-C anyway.

I have not had much luck starting out and do not want to venture back to cigarette's ever again (plus each pack has went up to $4.55 where i live, more than $1.00 more than they were). Read more and don't be hasty in buying. That would be my best advice.

Good luck!

YEAH... what Lu said

901 is good for beginner... most of us would have recommended the penstyle instead of the dura if you didn't like the 901 tho.. the dura is actually not much different than the 901 in alot of ways... just a little better at it's job than the 901.. but still expiremental in it's nature in it's problems :)

Thanks for the replies!

Well hubby and I have done tons of research and it has taken so long just to get to the beginning of all the experimentation.

Theres a video on Janty site that says the PCC works with the Dura-C but under the PCC details it says it doesn't? Either way i still need to track it down, 2 PCC's are lost in mail and @ 35 bucks a pop.

I have only used 1 cart so far and its trash. the filter in the cart looked weird when i took it out and i had to trash it. I suppose i do need to refill the empty carts once im done, but why are they so leaky????? Plus there is this hint of a burnt taste after using the cart for just a short period of time.

Hope i don't sound whiny. LOL I just am new and would like to see what everyone else thinks. :)

The original Dura had a reputation for being extremely leaky. We're starting to hear some reports of the Dura-C leaking, too. I'm starting to think that the problem isn't the Dura-C, but, rather, some of the cartridges are defective or are from old stock. The cartridges I purchased with my Dura-C work great, but when I tried some of the cartridges I purchased with my original Dura, they're loose and leaky.

If you have any leftover cartridges from the DSE901 you returned, go ahead and try those with the Dura. They should fit snugly.

You can also directly drip on your atomizer with the Dura-C. The main reason why folks often suggest you avoid dripping directly on the atomizer is that it's possible to flood the atomizer and then have e-liquid seep from the hole in the atomizer down into the battery. That's a great way to ruin a battery. However, the Dura-C has a sealed battery, so if you do wind up overdoing it with the dripping, you'll only have a flooded atomizer . . . and your battery should be fine.

(If you flood your atomizer, unscrew it from the battery, place a tissue over the large hole where the cartridge would ordinarily fit (I often put the tissue directly in the large hole), then gently blow through the small hole where you would screw on the battery. That should be sufficient to get rid of the extra juice and get your atomizer operating properly.)

But definitely take these issues up with Jeff. It is NOT acceptable for your Dura-C to be leaking, and hopefully some new cartridges will do the trick.

I'm curious as to why you didn't like the DSE901.

I trashed the old carts from the 901. Plus, why should i have to go to the trouble of fitting another brand cartridge into the Dura C just to make it "work". I just don't enjoy the hassle of it. I would rather it just work. The 901's were not that great (although the carts weren't leaky). No throat hit for me and not much vapor. I did like the led light on the end and how you could just use it with no push of a switch. I guess i could try dripping directly on the atomizer but not so much worried about the battery, just worried about the atomizer dying on me since i have one dead now.

You don't "have" to . . . I was just trying to suggest a temporary solution while you were waiting on replacements from Janty.

This is a complaint we hear from time to time from new e-smokers. However, the problem generally isn't the equipment, but, rather, the user is still trying to figure out how to vape.

Vaping just isn't the same as smoking, and those who try to vape the same way they smoked analogs often have difficulty getting a satisfying vape.

My first few days of vaping were a bit of a challenge. I had to learn by trial and error what worked and what didn't. When I first started, I had difficulty getting good vapor and often had the dreaded mouthful of niquid. That was because I was inhaling too quickly and too hard.

Between experimentation and reading the forum, I finally figured out that (1) dripping one or two drops of e-liquid on the cartridge, and (2) taking a short primer draw followed by a long, slow draw produced the maximum amount of vapor and the most satisfying vape.

Also, when dripping, do you use a cart with it, an empty cart, exactly how does the dripping on the atomizer work?

When you get your e-cig, the atomizer generally comes with a mouthpiece attached to it. It's basically a cartridge without stuffing, designed to protect the atomizer. (You don't want to ship the atomizer with a full cartridge attached for obvious reasons.) People will often place a couple of drops on the atomizer, then vape with the empty mouthpiece.

If you pitched the empty mouthpiece, you can take an old cart, remove the stuffing, and then use that.

Or, if you're a wild woman like me, you can drip a couple of drops on the atomizer and not even bother to put a mouthpiece on. Yup. I just place my mouth directly on the atomizer tube. Honestly, that's when I get the most satisfying vape . . . when I direct drip with no mouthpiece. The vapor is so much warmer that way, and it feels more like "smoking" to me.

And this is a good way to test an atomizer....if you don't get any vapor this way, you know something's wrong! It's also a good way to get a newly cleaned atomizer going since it puts a direct draw on it. And I use it when I'm trying to burn off the factory primer. Seems to go quicker.

JW and Terraphon . . . you guys crack me up. :)

No, I don't do my "lungs o' steel" act with high nic liquids . . . well, not for awhile, anyway. Nowadays, I'm vaping mostly low and no nic, with the occasional medium (and sometimes high) to spike when I'm feeling the craving. :D

But remember . . . I was a 2+ pack a day smoker for 30 years. That has to have something to do with my love of a harsh vape from time to time. ;)
