Hey guys this is my first post so bear with me. I got a subtank nano and a sigelei mini 30w and a efest 2500mah 35a 18650 for it (and i.know these are really 20a). Heres the issue I was at the local vape store and they told me I need a protected battery(suggested panasonic) for my sigelei and that efest and other imr batteries are for mech mods. He was very serious about this. All I have read on this forum say imr are the safest all around. I figure my mod has built in safety mechanisms. I keep my eye on battery level. Did I get the wrong battery or what? Please give me all the info I need lol o yeah he also suggest I vape at 7w but I barely get any vapor At that at all. I like it around 20w.... thanks

I wish I had some ideas, but I'm pretty green to the Ohm's Law relating to Vaping Devices thang, myself

You will be fine with the efest 2500mah batteries the only real benefit using the panasonic batteries will be extended battery life 3400mAh VS 2500mAH the only time you need to worry about battery safety is if you super subohm (less than .5) or are using a mechanical mod which has no protection. The sigelei mini has built in protection against over/under charge if the battery drops below 3.4v the mod will turn off and display "weak battery" it also has short circuit protection which will cause the mod to display "check atomizer" also NEVER leave your device unatended whilst charging even with the built in protection they can (and do) overheat and catch fire.

I agree with what everyone has said here. Like was mentioned, your device is protected or "regulated" and will NOT allow a push past the batteries Amp limit. What gets folks in to trouble is when their device is NOT regulated or allows a Sub Ohm of down to .1. In that case you will want to know your batteries Amp limit, know Ohms Law, do the math and figure out Exactly how many Amps your pushing with your build. You NEVER want to push over your batteries Amp limit in these cases. Pushing over that Amp limit can cause venting of the batteries, chemical reactions, and worse. This can even lead to a combustion. However you do Not need to worry in your case because of the regulation cut off on your device. I do hope this helps explain it a bit. I wish you the best.
