Hi All,

I finally received my kayfun v3.1 stainless steel clone from fasttech. I noticed couple of issues which I wanted to bring here and see if someone has any resolution.

First issue was that the post screws had almost round heads and so the kanthal wire was not able to tuck in. Picture below will show you both the screws.

Fortunately I have a colleague who as the original kayfun 3.1 and had spare screws so he gave me couple. I wanted to know if there is some place where I can get these screws?

Second issue is that the liquid filling hole seemed to be block. My colleague has a plastic head which perfectly fits in the inlet of the kayfun to fill the liquid. He tried the same on the clone and it seemed to be block. I also noticed that the inlet hole is smaller than the one on the original. Does anyone has any idea on how to open it if it is blocked?

Thank you for reading.

I have the Rocket from FT and it has the small screw heads too. It is a bit tricky to get the wire under them. I use small needle nose pliers to gently pinch the wire on both sides of the screw head on the inside as I screw it down. This is the result using thick 27 gauge Kanthal:

have no idea about the liquid fill hole. I always fill from the top.

Umar I have the FT 3.1 and replacing the screws is a definite necessity . I'm going to give you a link for the screws I'm using , make sure you get 1.6 x 3mm some azz on FT forum posted the length at 4mm that will cause the positive block to lift when you tighten and the screw hits the insulator and you will snap the center post , I know because I did it . These screws take a flathead screwdriver not philips but they're flat underneath and if you buy the nuts to go with it it's super easy to capture the wire , hope this helps . Yeah mine came with the tapered screws too. Thanks for the link Retic. Otherwise, it's a very well made device. Will order several more, and the screws to go with it.
You're welcome , as I said above if you buy the nuts that match those screws it will ease rebuilding 100% , makes it so easy to capture the wire .

Thank you thats awesome information. Also, would you happen to know why can't i use the inlet of the kayfun clone. Will it be ok if I use a needle as recommended earlier.
