hello and welcome to ecf. i think we need a little more information on what kind of set up you'd like. Do you care what it looks like? price range are ya going for. what color options do you prefer? how long of a battery life to you need?

you will get alot of suggestions here so, start thinking about these questions as they come in so you can whittle it down. :)

Igum, welcome and I'm a newb to forum but not to vaping. You are in the right place as I wish I had before ordering my first 2 pv mistakes. Most would say 510 or 808d1 but realise if you vape a lot you should start with a bigger batt. The pen style's are nice but constant changeing and for a newb attys are a pita. Go big 900 mah style for me 24 hrs. of vaping b4 charging. Cartos a must can refill easily 3 cartos leaving house and good to go. I thought at first dripping or buying juice was not for me but after 10 months can't live without. In the long run you will save big so go big, prices are now very affordable compared to analogs and I'm oh so glad I did. You will find help here as you go. Scary at first but not big deal. Good luck.

1-3 hours battery life on near-the-size-of-a-cig - are you near AC or USB power most of the time?

Joye 510 white MANUAL battery kit from Cignot.com or elsewhere + tan Boge blank cartomizers from NiteLiteVapor.com - and extra cost but the PCC (portable charging case) at NoSmokeVA.com is very nice. They also have complete PCC+ manual 510 kits but probably not Joye brand (getting Joye brand for the 510 guarantees good quality)

Also need eliquid and I recommend thinner liquids with cartos, like 70% or 80% PG liquids. If filled fully and kept damp a Boge carto should work well 1-2 weeks. Eliquid and cartos will be a continuing expense.

There are also Joye mega xl manual kits (FreedomSmokeUSA has some, you can probably find white elsewhere) - 60% more charge life, can only use a less-roomy metal PCC, 128mm long with a cartomizer. Similar charge length is the KR808D-1 manual w/ standard size batetries (also see Vapor4Life.com)

If you need super long battery charge or hotter harder hits, skip the slim ecigs and look at Ego or Riva 510.

Man I posted today looking for help but this is good for me. Basically I bought a Cloud9 CL9_501

http://www.cloud9smoking.com/electr...kages/the_cl9_501_electronic_cigarette_2.html

But to me it seems the amount of vapor is really low unless i hold my fingers over the 2 holes outside the threading of the atomizer. This also quiets the air flow when i pull.
Have only been vaping since Monday night but learned a lot here about the PG vs VG and TH vs Vapor.

Is that Joy 501 better or the same. I ask because I have already begun converting my cousin but he is asking about good amounts of smoke in order to give up his Menthols. So far I have a cartridge pack of Tobacco High whiich i wont ever use, and a Menthol/High but i dont smoke cigs so its affecting me. I can feel it and hate it. I havent smoked a cig in 6 months, and never was more than a pack a week smoker anyhow.
Today i was told here to get this

http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=55

Looks good and all, but im missing the cool light. Im looking for a black e-cig style or even the Riva, but with like a blue tip or red tip to light up..... only for cool factor... i know

The RIVA is a great kit if you want good TH and "smoke" and lots of flavor, and liberty has them at great price (use 20% coupon at top of page).

The joye 510 is a slimmer, cigarette sized, light battery. It won't produce the same amount of vapor, and battery lasts only 2 hours (RIVA will last 6+ hours).

Both are good quality, and a great place to start.

i had some kr808 to start with, then switched over to the ego because i wanted something that had a bigger battery life. the ego also gave me the option to use some different options with my device. over all i liked everything about the ego. i think it personally depends on what your looking for such as size, battery life, etc

I'm new to this as well! I picked up the bloog mini PCC kit, and I'm almost 2 weeks smoke free, down from a pack a day!

It's a little pricy, but so far so good! Black cig style, little charger case that looks like an iPhone that works great!

There's other 808 kits out there, take your pick! I am thoroughly satisfied with mine though, and if you're looking for something effective that still has the cool factor I'd check it out!

Cheers and good luck!

My suggestion is to go to the "good" stuff immediately. The "good" stuff are things you will enjoy immensely and will not give you trouble. My suggested shopping list is
2 e-go batteries with built-in usb passthrough (vary convenient)
Boge 2-ohm and 3-ohm cartomizers (ultra convenient, inexpensive, super performers)(use them and when there is a problem throw them away)
DIY e-liquid Kit with flavors of your choice

You can buy the above at very good prices from "Liberty Flights"
