I've never used an EVO but I do recommend it for people looking for that type of PV because I have read so many positive posts on it's performance, on the supplier and the price and specs are all in line with the performance that people are looking for. I've actually used about 15 different models including the Kgo, ego and E-Power. It use to be that many people making recommendations had a good deal of experience with different models. Now it seems many people have very little experience with different models and don't know the advantages of different models such as 5 volt, 6 volt, variable volt and variable watt, to name a few, from a comparison standpoint. But from a specs, user reviews and cost standpoint, models with better batteries that also cost less tend to provide better performance in the long run. Hopefully you will have the opportunity to try some different models.![]()
Sorry for hijacking your thread, Ralikar, we'll be done presently, I promise.
I salute you for having confidence in other people's reviews, but that's not really the way that my brain is wired.
I work in a restaurant as a waiter. I get people asking me about how every item is, and the ones that I like, I tell them that, and maybe even what I like about them if they're not meaning it as a rhetorical. If they ask me how the fish is, I tell them that a lot of people order it, and say they like it, but I don't eat fish, so I don't know. Sometimes they'll ask me what I eat, and I toss off a few things that I particularly enjoy, but I won't tell them that something is good when I don't have first hand experience.
I also will never recommend the spaghetti, because I know I could make it at home (better and 5x as much) for 3 dollars instead of paying 10.
That's the approach I take here. You might see me recommend a Silver Bullet, or a Kick because I have them, but you won't see me point toward a ProVari...at least not for a while.
Anyhow, I've got a Penelope in the mail now, so I get to learn about rebuildables.
