My dad is an awful awful smoker, his lungs are in poor shape and he just never slows down. He's got asthma and will NOT go to the doctor to hear a smoking lecture so I have to get my own doc to write scrips for asthma meds so I can give them to him, few people need to quit as bad as he does, seriously. I know how he feels because I've been the exact same kind of smoker for a whole bunch of years now too, until I tried vaping and now I'm set for good! :)

I want to help him out and he's interested in my VK, but not quite enough to take the plunge and order himself. Sooo, I'm thinking it's time for dad to get a present. That being said, he's in much better financial shape than myself so I need to be as conservative as possible while getting him hooked on vaping. I'm hoping for advice about what might help him the most to feel like he can make this work for him.

His habits:
3 plus packs a day of ultra lights, non menthol.
Smokes pretty much nonstop morning to bed time.
VERY absent minded and technically impaired.
Impatient and all about instant gratification.
NO computer time so passthrough useless, but lots and lots of car time for business.
He loves ice cream, apple pie, all kinds of cakes. Dessert FREAK!!!

What kind of equipment and flavors would you guys recommend, bare minimum, I can't really afford this at all but I know he really really can afford anything at all, I just need to get him tweaked on vaping a bit first, then his large budget can do the rest! So shoot me some ideas for a good starter kit for him if you've got any thoughts. Thanks!

Maybe a pass through and car adapter for the car, and 2 extra long batts that he can rotate with a regular wall charger?

For cartos I can recommend the peach cobbler (oh so yummy!) chocolate, coffee, cappuccino (my fave, but out of stock :( ) French pipe, So hard to know what people will like cart wise! To make sure he is getting his nic fix quick, I would get at least 16 or 24, or maybe a mixture of the two.

I agree with Jen on equipment, though you may want to consider the new manual regular length batteries since I hear that they are super fog machiness and a really long cutoff. If he is a long time heavy smoker the 5 second cutoff on the XL will make him insane. If you can swing the Ultimate Substitute kit, then I would go for that and be sure to note to Steve that you need the new batteries.

As for Cartomizers, I would probably add at least one tobacco flavor. It took those to make my husband even interested. Other good "manly flavors" are french pipe, coffee, and cappuccino. I would also consider adding some 36mg strength if he smokes that much. Perhaps reach out to Steve and see if he will mix you a couple snack packs of various flavors and strengths to minimize the costs.

Good luck!

A big pat on the back for helping your dad!!
I'm new to vaping so I can only offer my own newbie experience. I too smoke ultra lights so that might help a bit.
I would recommend Kant in at least 24mg, Mboro seemed to harsh to me, RY4 is good but I think that the Kant is smoother. He will want a good exhale vape. I'm still looking for that. For flavor, I Love the caramel, not sticky sweet, nice after taste. I haven't tried any of the other tabacco flavors - maybe someone else can guide you on those.

Good luck!!

Your Dad sounds exactly like my mom! 3 packs a day menthol, already has had 2 transplants of her aorta to femoral veins from her heart and a massaive heart attack! She kinda likes my VK but isn't willing to take the plunge herself!
What I did was give her one of my batterys and a few of the menthol carts. I just don't mention it to her, and she always asks me for more :) eventually I am hoping she will take the plunge herself or think it is her own idea ( you know how parents are :p)
If you can just get them to vaping more then smoking the taste of analogs sometimes becomes yucky ( thats what I am hopeing for) If not she has a birthday coming up maybe I can swing buying her a kit:) My mother is also better off then I am financially ATM! LOL But it will still definately be worth the extra years with her grand children and greats if she lives to see them!
