Hi all,

I'm a total newbie. Today I bought my first EC which is EGO-T with the vanilla liquid by Liqua. I have few questions.
1. How to make sure if I've bought an original product?
2. Since there are few stores in my area, I only had 2 options. The other one is ISMK iGo 4 Touch Charger Kit. I could also buy Canadian Moose liquid as well. Should I exchange it with the ISMK model?

Thanks.

Hi Sepehrsaber, welcome to the forum.

Ego has become a generic name for a type of e-cig battery now, so it's really difficult to say if you bought an original product. Some of the better brands out there are Vision and Joytech, but that's not to say you didn't get a product that will work well for you even if it's not one of those brands.

The battery is only a part of the ecig, the topper (the bit that holds the liquid that you screw in) affects the flavor and vaping experience more than the battery in my experience. If you bought an ego product, you'll have a wide range of choices of topper and you are likely to find one that works for you.

I can't find much information on the iGo ecig you mentioned, hopefully someone here has experience with them and can advise.

It's hard starting off. Have you considered purchasing online? There are a lot of starter kits that we could help point you to that might be less expensive and offer a better value.

I'm guessing eGo-T stands for eGo Twist? I'm pretty sure there was an authentic eGo twist, but as InTheShade just said, the eGo name has just become a way to categorize certain e-cig batteries. IMHO, I think most eGo based batteries being sold at the internet stores and B&Ms may not be the original, but they tend to perform just as well and hold up just as well in reliability.

I started out with an eGo-T, it's a basic non variable ecig, but decent power and battery life. I do know that you can only use single coil tanks on them, but it's still a good place to start. I started out with that and a Kanger T3S, then moved up to a VV battery and a protank3 mini. Still got me off cigarettes within 2 days...so way to go! Glad you're here, lots of good info on this forum :)

China is under no copyright rules and they do a lot of cloning...cheaply. Many vapers shop there for the low prices.

I think...(gasp!) that it is just buying from reputable dealers. A thought if I may...B&Ms have to deal with paying for the building an employees, so they often sell China-made items that are cheap, look exactly the same, and mark them up. They have to deal with the extra costs of the business somehow.

Using the internet, and reputable websites, is cheaper. Also, if you search on here, there is a lot of discussion about experiences.

There is a lot of info buried in this forum and there are good people. Just keep learning. For me, it is a hobby and I enjoy experiencing.

Hope helps and best of luck

Honestly with a really basic starter kit like an Ego style battery you'll find the clones and authentics fall around the same price range in a lot of stores and perform pretty much the same. A really cheap clone may lose its charge faster and the long-term battery life might be cut if they used a cheaper battery but generic Ego batteries are just fine for getting started.

If you want to upgrade and spend a little more on something nice, you could spring for an EVOD starter kit or go with an MVP 2.0 kit. Those both come with basic tanks that perform pretty well until you're ready to step up to something a touch better like an Aspire Nautilus.

It was said already but it really comes down to buying from a reputable dealer/B&M. If you don't trust the local shops to sell authentic, there are endless sites on line to purchase authentic products.

Guys thanks a lot for the replies. I believe the one I'm using is not authentic and I have to switch to something more reliable. The other option I mentioned, ISMK iGo 4, can be seen on e-cigarette-sellers website under ISMK section.

I would be delighted if you let me know of where to start in the forum to gain the most essential information preferably fast. Besides, I'm wondering if any of the online shops you mentioned ships overseas since right now I'm living in Middle East.

I am also a little bit lost as there are many different types of liquid. I would appreciate bit of help on that as well. I used to smoke around 5 cigarettes a day.

Don't get that e-cig. Please. What a waste of money.

Actually just for trivia, the T actually stood for tank, back when Joyetech started selling different tanks with ego threading, prior to that most devices were cigalikes with disposable cartomizers.
OB

Good for you OverByter.

What is more incredible about the "tank" idea is that whilst Joyetech kept selling these little so-called "tanks" all the other manufacturers were working on clearomiser technology (that could hold way more liquid). Even today these horrible little things are still being sold by Joyetech. I got some with an EVIC back in the summer. Dreadful. Just useless.

Somewhere along the line, people were knocking off Joyetech eGo batteries by printing eGo-T on the side, with no tank to be seen. (so, they were just eGos) :)
It's not often I feel bad for Joyetech, but I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Thanks for the explanation. So, Which of the following you suggest?

1. Aspire Premium kit consisting of nautilus mini and VV+ battery
2. Kanger E-vod Starter kit
3. Innokin MVP 2

Or any other suggestion?

1 would be a decent option... You could also look into the Mini paired with an istick instead of the aspire VV.

Three solid options there. I would go with the Aspire mini paired with an MVP2 or a Vision Spinner, or a Joytech twist. The MVP is a little larger than an ego battery - but if you are OK with that, it's a solid device with many satisfied users.

As for e-liquid, it's probably the hardest part to get right. The absolute best advice I can give is to find a local vape shop that offers a juice bar. Visit them and go try a few liquids and maybe buy a small bottle of something you like.

Don't buy large amounts yet, your tastes will change and what you like today you may find unvapable tomorrow.

If you can't get to a vape shop, buy sampler packs from vendors. The e-liquid forum here has many thousands of suggestions.

So I have a smok caterpillar on my itaste vtr at 15 watts with a single coil build using 28g and 11 wraps. At first the coil was reason a perfect 1.6-1.7 with awesome vape. Taste density etc.. After 3-4 hits the ohms jumped all the way up to 2.3-2.4 and density and flavor went wayyyy down. Any suggestions???? PLEASE HELP!

Hi Tamuata18, you might be better off starting your own thread so people will see it. You might not get many responses tucked away in this other thread about something else.

First thing I would do would be to check your coil is secure in the build and that you don't have any shorts or bad contacts in there.

Then start your own thread :)

As InTheShade said, you should probably start your own thread.

But screw that, let's kill two birds with one stone!

One of your coils has detached. Your posts might need tightening, or if you're using a thin gauge of Kanthal, it's possible the heat caused the legs to snap. If you look inside your atomizer, you'll likely see either one or the other being the culprit. I 100% guarantee that this is the problem in this case. If you pull out the wick, and then dry-fire your coils (just heat them up till they're red *(DON'T OVER-HEAT THEM, THEY'LL SNAP)* you'll probably see only one coil heating up.

Reason being, dual coils halve the ohms. So if you have 2x 2-ohm coils (each coil is 2 ohms individually) the ohms on your dual coil setup (with both coils in series) the ohms will be 1.

Thanks for the thorough explanation InTheShade. So you don't believe in Aspire CF VV+ battery that much, right? Because you know, it would be easier for me to order online directly the whole package from Aspire website considering my current location.

As for the liquids as you what you realized, I don't have access to local stores. So I have few options as said before. So between Liqua and Canadian Goose, which one is more acceptable?

Thanks for your help.

Well, those are all different for your purpose (unless you are intending on becoming a Vaping monster!)

You could get by perfectly well with an iTasteVV and two clearomisers.
