Hey ECF,
I have decided to build my own dual parallel 18650 unregulated wooden box mod and there are a couple things I need advice on.
Just to let you guys know where I'm at right now, I have done a lot of research on the Internet and I've pretty much figured everything out. I'm going to be getting either the fatdaddyvapes 510 or the chi you flat top cap for my 510. I'm going to be getting a a nice, good looking button rated for 4 amps at 250 VAC (I've heard that they can handle a lot more amperage at lower volts but, I've also heard they can't). I'm thinking of getting an on/off switch to prevent auto firing. Other than that just coiled up 14 gauge copper wire for the contacts and hobby wood from Home Depot.
This is where I need advice from the ECF community. Which 510 should I get (of the two listed)? Is that configuration "safe" with the button taking the load? If not, what would you recommend, what parts do I need, and how do I wire it? Is the on/off switch a good idea and is there one that can handle the power? Also, in a wooden box, is heat shrinking/electrical tape necessary for the wire?
By the way, I'm building this for my own personal use and, if it turns out well, I'll make a couple for my friends so I'm not too worried about the button giving out over so many pushes or something similar to that. If it is something that should be a major concern, obviously that is something I will take into account (I do somewhat value my safety
)
This is my first post on ECF outside of the newbie forum but, I do have a lot of experience and knowledge about sub ohming and safety and all that. That being said, I appreciate your help and any input helps. Thanks!
