I been using a VV/VW MOD for about 10 months now (eVic). I'm looking for a new MOD since my controller head isn't working right all the time and don't want to pay $69.99 + tax for a new head. I was hoping to find a new mod where I can still use the same 18650 batteries. I was thinking of a mechanical mod? But, don't want to spend too much money, since I never had one and I'm not sure if I want to keep rebuilding and using a ton of juice everyday, so I was thinking to mostly use my old clearomizer and glassomizers. I have the old single coil Protank 1 and the dual coil iClear 30 and dual coil Nautilus adjustable vapor tank. I was hoping to find something that the Nautilus tank and iclear 30 won't look way too over sized with, but because of price I was looking at the Kamry k100 kit.

Is that something worth trying or will the tanks just be way to big for it or can it also you use the metal rings or collars to make the tank look flush with the k100? I know the Nautilus tank is suppose to be 22mm.

So if I'm not planing on doing sub ohms anytime soon and just planing on using tanks or dripping on a cartomizer there's no advantages?

Yes, no advantages. In fact there are disadvantages. Its not variable anything unless you add a kick. You are limited to a straight 3.7v. And without a kick you need to make sure you don't over discharge your batteries.

I like the k100 for the eGo threads included and not just the 510;
But I'm leaning more towards a nemesis setup with lots of optional tubes and rings so I can adjust to whatever size I want including especially using my existing 18650 batteries plus a kick; and that requires about 83 to 85 mm battery space.

If you don't plan to do sub ohms - same as me - a mech is a good failsafe backup.
I myself want a good mech with lots of parts (tubes/rings), and spare top and bottom pieces and enough space inside to fit a kick.

Would be kind of silly if your mod stops working and you got batteries no tube with a 510/eGo top to put them in and take a puff;

A VV device will give you more consistency, so keep that in mind. I went with a mech/carto setup purely for aesthetic reasons but ended up loving it.

I called around local vape shops and the only place that had it was $60 + tax. So I checked local websites and seen this Chi You MOD clone that's actually a good clone looks almost the same even the numbers and the brass connection just has a darker print to it and not polished in silver but the brass has a polished version for $55 + tax. It is an adjustable tube but not telescopic like the magneto MOD you suggested, I heard telescopic doesn't have the best contact and the vape isn't as good from 1 of the shops I go to.

Not sure if this would be something to get?

Can either of you explain what a kick is and what it does, I searched and got some what of an idea, is that something I need? I want to use my spare 18650 battery if I can, so I don't have to buy a new battery if possible.

This one seems to have 510/eGo connection
and max supported battery length of 84 mm so it can take an 18650 (65mm) battery and a kick (18 mm)

Sigelei kick module:
Details:

•Matching with atomizer in a resistance of 1.5ohm-3.0ohm
•Variable wattage: 5W-15W in 1W increment or decrement
•POR: After power on reset, the KICK will get into the alert status if no atomizer installed
•Low voltage protection (below 3.2V)
•Low resistance protection (below 1.0ohm)
•Short circuit protection
•Match with any kind of SIGELEI Telescope, and most full mechanical mods

If you are going to use a Kick, the only mechs I know of that will accommodate this are the Nemesis and the Silver Bullet M with a Kick ring. The latter is more than you stated you wanted to spend.

Thanks, I'm going to call the vape shop near me that sells the clone and find out if theirs will support a kick. What is the usual price range for a kick if I run 1.5-2.8 coils and cartos?

The question I have for you is what voltage/wattage level did you normally vape at on your current devise? If you vaped any higher than 3.7v an unregulated mod with your current tanks are not going to work for you. And an unregulated devise requires that you not over discharge your batteries. And knowing when to charge them requires you have a volt meter (cost $20). You can't use your batteries until they stop working. You over discharge them, they won't recharge, you throw them out.

You can turn an unregulated revise into a variable wattage devise with the addition of a kick. Cost anywhere from $20-50. But it doesn't work with all mods using a 18650 battery. And dialing up the voltage requires you remove the battery and the kick and use a screwdriver to dial up the wattage. It's not that it is hard to do but it's fiddly.

Based on what you first wrote, IMHO, an unregulated mod is not right for you, at least not at this time.
