I quit smoking in 2011 and I used a 510 slim setup for about 9 months. Some very stressful thing started happening in life and before I know it I was back on cigs...now, I'm quitting, for good this time and want to get a new set up. I've been checking different websites, combing thru post on this website, and I have gotten myself confused...or I just don't understand!
I've been looking at getting a Joye 510-T starter kit...but there are so many "types"....eGo, eCab, eGo-T type B, eGo-C type A
So, is there a quick easy way to know what the differences are???

Also can someone explain what a "tank" is? a cartomizer? a mod?

Thank you in advance for your help and explanations!! I would really like to get something ordered today....if possible!!:smokie:

Of all the ego types you mentioned, I would suggest the ego-c twist. That's a variable voltage that's small and does a good job. A tank is well, basically a tank that goes around a cartomizer that holds your e liquids. Cartomizers is where all the action happens. It has a filler material and a coil running vertically up the center. To be able to use a cartomizer in the tank system, you would either have to purchase a pre punched cartomizer or punch/slot your own hole.

Hi and welcome!

An eGo battery is an eGo battery, unless you get into variable voltage (Twist) or pseudo-variable voltage ("Upgrade" - don't get me started ;)) It's fat, like a Sharpie pen and comes in different lengths depending on the mAh (how long it will hold a charge). It has 510 internal threading and exterior "eGo" threading to attach cones, thread covers and delivery devices like "Stardust" type clearomizers. The "T," "C," refer to delivery systems different kits come with, not the battery*. The difference between "Type A" and "Type B" are the cones they come with in different kits, which has to do with how the atomizer is attached, not the battery. An eGo is an eGo. The eCab isn't an eGo, it has a slimmer design.

See, clear as mud!

ETA: Just to make things clearer/muddier, the Twist is usually listed as an "eGo-C Twist," which is a different animal than what I described. I was referring to the "C" as in "Changeable Atomizer" system, which is a type of kit.

This thread does a decent job of explaining the differences between cartomizers, tank systems, clearomizers and carto-tanks.

The 510-T system you saw is the same system as the slim style you used before, only it uses a clear tank to hold the liquid rather than a cart with polyfill. The eGo battery is a larger and fatter battery than the 510 slim styles. eGo-C and eGo-T are tank and atomizers systems similar to the 510-T only made for the larger batteries. The eGo-C system also has replaceable rechargeable batteries rather than a contained unit, as well as a replaceable atomizer head which is disconnected from the threading and tube like a traditional atomizer. The e-Cab is smaller than the eGo but larger than a 510 stick-style. It also has replaceable batteries and uses the same atomizer head as the eGo-C.

Most people seem to dislike the tank and atomizer systems after trying them, though the consensus seems to be that the eGo-C is the best of the lot.

It really depends on what you want to spend.

I started with the 510 like you did then started smoking again...to me the 510 just didn't cut it and the carts tasted like carp. I'm back vaping again now and I just can't bring myself to fork out $30 to $40 on one battery. I will say this, if your a heavy user then you're going to want a hefty battery. I'm using 1100 mah eGo-K's (I just like the way the K's look) and I can get two for what one variable costs.

The next thing is the delivery system. I was using eGo W clearomizer assemblies and I thought they were pretty good, that is until someone gave me a CE4 clearomizer. That thing made the cart seem weak. The only problem was every CE4 (and CE5 which is rebuildable) leaked like crazy. Right now I'm using Kanger T-2 (top coil) and T-3 (bottom coil) clearomizers which both hold 2.4 ml (twice what a CE will hold)and not one of them has leaked (except one I dropped). The Kanger's also seems to give bigger hits that the CE's.

I would say get your self a couple of 900 mah (or higher) eGo batteries, a couple of Kanger T-2 or T-3's, an eGo quick charger and some quality juice. You'll be good to go. Vapor Alley is a pretty reasonably priced source for the parts but I prefer Mt. Baker Vapor or Vaporbomb for juice.

Is there a starter kit for the "twist"?? or is that a separate item?
If it is a separate item, which starter kit should I get, that it is best compatible with? and are there any other items I should get with it?

This right now is all Greek to me, but i promise....I'm gonna be studying up and learning all this craziness!! There were no tanks, and stuff when I first got my 510slim...I'm even afraid to ask what a drip tip is!! LOL
Thanks again!!!

Yes, there are starter kits with Twists. Although you still may want to add a couple of other delivery devices, if the kit doesn't come with very many (the choice is yours). What is your budget?

I have about $60-$70 to spend, and after looking at the link that Jetta Jim sent, the starter kit is only $29.99.....haven't checked the Kangers price yet, but, what do I also need to add??

Another battery! That kit only comes with one.

Here's a suggestion off the top of my head: eGo Twist 650 Starter Kit - Black

You could get your Kanger and juice from another vendor.

I would suggest another battery too. I got a mini ego as well. (Cheap) So you'd have a big one good for 10 hours , and a mini for stealth that's good for around 4 hours. I love the Ce3's. Dont leak, holds about 1.6 ml and they come 5 to a pack( I pay 8.95 PK)
