Any experts out there want to give me a hand?

I ordered the flavor Creme de Menthe from ecblendflavors.com a month ago (I added menthol hit, and sweetener), and I just love it. I decided to try and DIY my own, but what I have made is woefully inadequate.

I used loranns creme de menthe flavor, ezsweetz, a little vanilla vodka, and a 50/50 pg/vg base. What I got is certainly minty and sweet, but it is missing something that ecblend is using and I cannot figure out what. If someone is willing to help, I will gladly compensate by sending some $ via paypal so you can order the creme de menthe and try it yourself.

Did you use vanilla flavor and vodka? or vanilla flavored vodka? I have never tried using a flavored vodka - not sure how the flavor would really translate . .can you taste the vanilla? (that is, if you meant vanilla flavored vodka).

Unfortunately, I've never tasted the flavor you're trying to emulate. I also have the LA creme de menthe and I think it's a really good flavor. I do creme de menthe, tfa vanilla swirl and sweetener. I'm currently experimenting with percentages - my current batch is 7% creme de menthe and 3% vanilla - it's good but maybe too much vanilla for my taste - but also maybe too much creme de menthe. I also have some tfa double chocolate on order . .I want to try adding 1-2% chocolate to make it richer.

Good luck - keep us updated on your progress.

Howdy, Bosco!

I used vanilla flavored vodka. Not much at all, just about 10 drops in a 50ml batch. I could not taste the vanilla at all.

I used 5% creme de menthe, with no other flavor other than the ezsweetz sweetener. Maybe the vanilla is what ecblend is using, I honestly have no idea. I'm terrible at picking out individual flavors in recipes. I was thinking about trying to add some LA Bavarian Cream, and/or LA Banana Cream, in fact I just ordered an ounce of each this morning. My vape currently tastes minty (a little too minty for me) and sweet. The ecblend has this rich creaminess to it that I cannot place. Once I experiement with the banana and bavarian creams, I may give that vanilla swirl a shot if they don't satisfy me.

Yeah - give any of those a try, should be delicious. I'm also a newb at DIY - but what I've noticed in my rather prolific research is that there are so many potential combinations of flavors that it becomes really hard to copy a juice exactly. There are probably at least 2 dozen potential "vanilla" flavors out there widely used for vaping and another 2 dozen esoteric ones. And I am not sure how many creme de menthes - but several besides LA - or it could even be housemade. You'll definitely make something tasty, though.

btw - vanilla swirl is a nice vanilla flavor to me. Not to fake tasting and pretty sweet. Like a vanilla cream.

Are you also attempting to copy something you had previously purchased?

I had no idea there were so many flavors out there. I am an extreme newb at juice DIY, I made my first batch just 4 days ago, and tried it 2 days ago. It's a bit discouraging trying to copy something you love so much, only to find out you missed the mark by a mile.

That vanilla swirl doesn't taste much like chocolate? The pic shows 50/50 chocolate and vanilla, but I didn't see any kind of description of the flavor.

At this point I don't mind if I can't emulate the ecblend (though I would love to), as long as I can find a recipe that I enjoy almost as much.

strange - I don't think it has any chocolate flavor at all. The description from TFA says "this is our vanilla custard flavor with the custard notes removed". Probably whatever site you're looking at made a mistake with the picture.

Perfumers Apprentice - Vanilla Swirl Flavor

No - I'm not trying to copy anything. I'm a big cheapskate so I got into DIY to save money just a few weeks after I started vaping. I have only tried about 5 pre-mixed e-juices from vendors . .and none of them really blew me away.

Today I'm vaping 8% LA cinnamon role and 2% vanilla swirl with 1 drop per ml sucralose sweetener. It's great - definitely my all day vape . .for today, lol.
