Hello everyone. I've been trying to mix up a batch of Chocolate Mint and am running into problems. I first mixed up my Chocolate flavor by itself. I'm making a 10ml bottle using a 50/50 base, no nic, I'm nic free now and proud of it
I am using LorAnn's flavor. So I started small with 1ml of Chocolate in my base...wasn't strong enough. Added more and tested, added more and tested. Kept doing this until I stopped where the Chocolate was perfect at 2.3ml. It was still a little too coco'ish and I ended up adding 2 drops of Malted Milk (Perfumers Apprentice), and 2 drops of sweetener. This made the chocolate absolutely perfect!
Now the mint part. In all the recipes I've searched out on Chocolate Mint, they say to use about 0.25ml of Creme De Menthe (LorAnn). I started out smaller than that. I added only 0.1ml of Creme De Menthe. Tested.....the Mint was there but magically I couldn't hardly taste my awesome Chocolate flavor any more
. I had a 2nd bottle of Chocolate mixed up, same as first, and added only 0.05ml of Creme De Menthe. Tested.....Mint flavor was less and the Chocolate was a little more noticeable, but nowhere near what I was looking for.
I feel the Mint taste is about perfect at 0.05ml, but am leery about adding more Chocolate to the mix as it is already at a high percentage, 23%. What am I doing wrong or what can I do different to make the perfect Chocolate Mint with the right balance of Chocolate to Mint??
Chocolate Mint is my favorite btw and would really love to get this right!
